GSW - SAC (Curry for Fox)

Post#1 » by bpcox05 » Wed Jan 22, 2025 4:23 pm

I’m bored so let’s throw out a fun & crazy idea

—————————

GSW GETS: De’Aaron Fox & Kevin Huerter
GSW GIVES: Steph Curry
WHY FOR GSW? It may be time for the Warriors to move on from the the 36 year old Curry considering they’re currently 11th in the west. In exchange, they get Fox who just turned 27 and can be a part of their retooling effort around their young guys (Podz, Moody, Kuminga, Jackson-Davis).

PG - Fox / Schroder / Payton
SG - Podziemski / Hield / Waters
SF - Wiggins / Moody / Huerter
PF - Wiggins / Kuminga / Anderson / Santos
C - Green / Jackson-Davis / Looney

—————————

SAC Gets: Steph Curry
SAC Gives: De’Aaron Fox & Kevin Huerter
Why for SAC? Considering DeRozan is 35 years old, the Kings double down on winning now and upgrade their PG spot with the 36 year old Curry. Curry gives the Kings a legit #1 option on a contending team and his shooting is a much better fit next to DeRozan and Sabonis. Also, considering Monk, DeRozan, and Sabonis are all good playmakers and comfortable with the ball in their hands, it allows them to take advantage of Curry’s elite off-ball play/movement more frequently. As a follow-up move, the Kings would probably look to package Lyles, Carter, and/or picks for more frontcourt help/depth and to further strengthen their chances.

PG - Curry / Monk / McLaughlin
SG - Ellis / Carter / Jones
SF - DeRozan / Crowder / McDermott
PF - Murray / Lyles
C - Sabonis / Len

Two middling teams with no shot at contending walk into a bar, swap stars . . . and walk out as two middling teams with no shot at contending
In a no-win argument, the first poster to Let It Go will at least retain some peace of mind

I cant see Steph getting traded. Unless he specifically asks to get moved, where I imagine the front office would work with him to go where he wants. But even then, I dont really see Steph asking to get moved. So, I dont see him getting traded.

I mean its exactly this.

Now maybe the Kings would be a team he'd be open to. It's the closest geographical move anyway.

But this would be what does Steph want.

Ultimately yeah if Steph said I want to be traded somewhere close to the Bay, and the Kings had the best offer, we'd live with that.

I don't see him wanting to be traded to a different middling team though, IMO if he asks for a trade it would be to a legit contender, or at least an up and coming young team that has a reasonable path to growing into a contender with him on it.

This is a non starter.

This is not the Steph of even two or three years ago.

This is trading a young star just entering his prime for a former superstar now very clearly on the decline and it’s not a move that actually makes the correct balance changes that balance our roster.

Vivek, is that you?

Until Curry asks to be moved, they won't trade him.

Since you love players on their last legs, it was only a matter of time

He’s too old

We want to watch players for many years the rest of us

As a Kings fan I’m not Fox’s biggest supporter, but he would definitely be the Warriors best deal if he were offered. Not sure what age your thinking curry is or what your expecting, as he should be moved at this juncture

I’m shocked Curry is currently leading the poll, to me it’s several Warrior fans who will be shocked with the return he gets

There is no 'move on' from the most beloved franchise player, who brought 4 rings, MVPs, dynasty, arguably the best team in NBA history, and increased the team value from 400 mils to 8 billion. The relationship between Curry and Warriors would go on long after his retirement, and I doubt Warriors would do anything to jeopardize it. And, the relationship between fans and Warriors will be shattered if they trade Curry. I mean, 49ers fans are still complaining about trading Montana for Young, even though 49ers won the SuperBowl with Young. The only way Curry wears a different uniform is if he requests the trade, and it doesn't seem like that's in his mind at this point.
