Jesus.
The Dodgers are out for blood while Hal is happy that Brian got the salaries under the luxury tax.
We will never win again while this dip sh*t is in charge.

This is wrong. The Yankees make the most revenue in MLB, and it's not particularly close.

Hal’s whole stupid plan was to resign Juan Soto and try to run things back while the Dodgers kept gearing up. What a stupid ass owner. The right move would have been to get Soto, sign Fried, get Goldschmidt, bulk up the bullpen, etc…not this either-or shyt Hal is trying to push through the media.

Correct. Last I checked the Yankees made nearly 100m more than LA, which makes Hal look even worse for how he is penny pinching

Yep.
Soto was right.

Not sure what going to the Mets does other than getting a bit more money and a suite. Mets have kinda stopped spending crazy after the big contract and Soto now has to face the Dodgers just to get to the World Series. I would've thought they'd be in on Tanner Scott even with Diaz or swung a deal for Corbin Burnes as a true ace.

That's true. I haven't seen them do much else besides sign our expired goods.

They’re not being cheap but they’re suffering from another Cashman and Hal disease: arrogance. It really is arrogance that drove them to assume any of the members of their rotation could match up against the Dodgers starting 5. They needed Corbin in the worst way.
It does look like they’re going to be getting Vlad next off-season, based on their trade rumors and how they’re ostracizing Alonso, though.

The same Vlad that hates us and won't sign here![]()
This is not the same franchise of my youth. George would have went nuclear watching the Dodgers outwork us. Hal? Pffft.

Unlike the Yankees, the Mets are pretty stocked with minor league talent that are on the cusp of becoming major leaguers. We're trying to figure out how to best utilize these assets to improve the team either by keeping them or trading them. We can definitely make a significant trade with them.

I know Sproat can start off in the Mets rotation or bullpen, but should that really have stopped you guys from Scott and Burnes or at least one of them? Or wouldn't the better play be to sign Burnes instead of Montas and Holmes to be the back end of your rotation?

Stearns doesn’t like these longterm contracts for pitchers. Minter might be safer pick over Scott, who’s had control issues in the past. I think that the other issue is that we’re up against most severe luxury tax where each contract will be doubled due to the penalty.

Perhaps it's my own pinstripe bias, but I still think even a short term AAV of around $30 million to Montas and Holmes is a lot riskier than Burnes's $35 million.
I get not wanting to give Tanner Scott a huge contract, especially a relief pitcher, but damn, the upside for the Dodgers was absolutely enormous and widens the gap between the Dodgers and everyone else. Yankees were never in on him despite needing a lefty and Scott's contract night mean they won't be re-signing Williams.
