Fwiw, I think I would take McCarthy over Carroll due to age.

Still have Kellen Moore and Kliff Kingsbury out there.

Moore is not HC material to me. He's better suited to be a coordinator imo. Then you have a bunch of guys who we're either fired & flamed out or are viewed as older retreads.

I would take McCarthy over the majority of remaining names tbh. The coaching talent pool is very shallow at the moment.

A guy like Todd Monken is almost as old as McCarthy.

Kingsbury & Saleh make better coordinators than a HC.

McCarthy would be a bland pick, but he has been successful in both other stops

I just can't get over the fact Trent Baalke has this much control. Dallas fans complaining about Jerry being the worst owner in the league, at least he wins you regular season games and is legitimately trying to win. Shad doesn't even care, the money comes in no matter what he does.

Obviously Doug Pedersons didn't have a lot of success in Jacksonville but right now it's looking like whoever they hire will be a downgrade.

And put ourselves behind in the GM search too

God this team is stupid. Watch, I guarantee the guy who's interim GM is just gonna become the GM because Shad's too lazy to actually clean house.

Patriots- Mike Vrabel
Bears- Ben Johnson
Jets- Aaron Glenn

That leaves the Cowboys, Raiders, Saints & Jags as the remaining vacancies. Unless my math is off?

If Jerry dies during Schotty's HC tenure the Cowboys would be 100% run by nepotism.

Not exactly true, Will McClay isn’t related to the Jones’.

Yeah, but would he run the team or would Stephen??

I actually don't think it would be a complete disaster if Schotty is the guy. But it definitely has to be an underwhelming hire if you're a Cowboys fan.

Notre Dame DC Al Golden returns to the Bengals as their new DC.

Idk much about his scheme, base sets, or anything like that. I watched zero ND games the past 3 seasons. I'll have to watch some tape.

Pratt probably won't get cut now.

So Stephen Jones will take after his father, meddle in football decisions?

Didn't Jerry at least give some autonomy to Johnson and then Parcells before deciding that he didn't like them getting credit for the team doing well so he was going to make himself GM/POFO or the final say on all football matters?

Of course all owners have the final say, since they write the checks. But most of them will pay a lot to a GM and to a President and not deal with it.

Of course the owner of the Giants let his GM talk him into letting Saquon walk and then saw him sign with the Eagles of all teams.

Maybe "football professionals" are overrated.

The Jones family (not just Stephen) would definitely run the team. McClay would likely still run the draft though.

I don’t really understand the Aaron Glenn hire. Obviously the guy has paid his dues but the lions defense was never that good.

I’d rather have Flores tbh.
