He’s just dead weight right now, maybe they finally realized that last night. Now he’s suspended again and hopefully traded during the road trip

RE: Wiz and Raptors potential involvement

I wonder if this is a swapping deck chairs:

Miami gets Brogdon
Toronto gets Rozier
Washington gets Brown

Or if there is a bigger play here, with some combo of Jordan Poole/Kyle Kuzma/JJJ being moved.

Hopefully swapping of chairs

Brogdon
Herro
Middleton
Bam
Ware

Close the season with this then go get Fox. Hopefully retain Brogdon for cheap as a 6 man backing up Fox

You don't go through the press to tell a player to shut up, at best that should be done behind closed doors.

If you work a job, you don't want your boss to show up at a company meeting and say that you should shut your mouth even off work. It's going to embarrass and upset you to a very high degree, and this was done in the media/public, not just in front of his team or how it should have been done... privately. I would say that most NBA players would have a real issue with management or even a governor saying that about them.

It's pretty obvious professional courtesy in NBA are way different than the normal work place environment. I mean, imagine going to your boss who is paying you $50 million and saying you've lost your joy working for the company and demand they get you a job at only one other specific company. It's a different world so I don't think you can really compare.

BINGO and Jimmy did need to shut his trap...all that talk and insta trolling was annoying when he wasn't even on the court. It was putting a target on the back's of the guys who were. Plus Jimmy pretending to be offended by that is laughable, he's always talked like he's thick skinned and an air it all out type of guy. The money is all that this is about period. Although I'm sure he wished Pat got him more help as well.

Honestly its not any different except for having the media involved. Iv seen fights, people calling each other a bizztch, and most recently I seen someone kick the the break room door down, i have seen people get arrested (upper management and asked me to can I go ge a copy of their arrest warrent). Hell I even stopped someone from attacking manager after their moms passed.

A lot of companies do not want to get police involve because it could attract the media.

I use to have to do the escort part when someone got fired. Hated it with a passion, because I got to deal with the attitude and the sabotages and I am not the one who fired you

IDK maybe we can convince a team that he's just not a good fit on our team and it'll be better on theirs

Terry is def an upgrade over Gabe and is an expiring next year you can sell it on that

There is something in common at each one of those stops. The FO decided to go with the younger players.

Chicago - They put forth a 2 year plan to have 2 max spots in FA to add to Butler, this is why Wade and Rondo were overpaid to come in on... 2 year contracts so the contracts all lined up like... Miami's are for 2026? The difference is they were able to get Thibodeau out and brought in Hoiberg and decided to no longer to build around Butler and go the cheaper young player route (Chicago is really cheap).

Minnesota - Thibodeau would have given Butler whatever he wanted but the owner was all about Wiggins and Towns, handed Wiggins a max while Butler was there because Wiggins had a sit down with the owner and said he'd keep working on his game and got handed a max while the owner was reluctant to give Butler one. Thibodeau did everything he could to not trade Butler so Butler ratched up enough to get the owner to tell other GMs to come with him with offers if Thibodeau wouldn't accept a good offer for Butler.

Philly - The team was being built around the younger players in Embiid and Simmons and with that, Butler mostly played R.Covington's role vs a main guy because that was for the younger guys. He left without upsetting the fanbase and mentions Harris over me from time to time although part of the reason he left was that he was told someone in management asked if they could control him (kinda like shut your mouth situation but in private) and that was enough for him to completely close the door of going back to Phillly in FA.

Miami - The FO has decided to go with... young players. The FO never really did any good moves to try to build up the roster around Butler, they just kept using their picks for players who couldn't help for 2-4 years. This roster really didn't look like a championship roster with this year being the worst roster to compete for a championship this year.

Every stop he's had to deal with the FO priortizing younger players over him, something that is never mentioned when talking about his exits from each team.

There is almost always a situation where your bad player on their contract is better than another team's player on a bad contract. At this time, what's the point of moving Rozier, I would expect at some point Spoelstra will see a turnaround in Rozier's game or finally just bench him and then he's an expiring next year which is important.

Miami is just in a hold pattern for 1 - 1 1/2 seasons, call this your development time for the younger guys and then the new build should happen.

A lot of players say that your contract reflects what the FO thinks of you. So having the FO decline to extend him and then the 2nd wake up call of the offense changing that goes against your game (and Bam's) tells you, you're no longer in this team's plans and if you feel you have a few good years left, you don't want to waste them on a non contender that no longer values you like they once did. It's just a bad situation and once again, why would you tell someone to shut up if you know there's a good chance of it having adverse effects unless.... that's your goal. Who thought Butler would have no problem with Riley telling him to shut up thru the press, I knew that moment it was over.

It's hard for me to understand this narrative that Butler was being put in a situation to play hard for his next contract, there was no downside. The downside was, with Butler at his age deciding to go into free agency, the #1 thing for him was to not have a major injury which means not playing as hard as often. It's really odd that the media people talking about this situation never brought up that possibility, it was only good for the Heat for Butler to not get an extension because now he'll play harder all year.
