Somehow everyone else on the roster got the memo

I'm completely fine going with the fact that he missed the flight because he missed the flight and it's on him, but the nature of the situation and being suspended last time for exactly the number of games to the end of a road trip and having it done again seems suspicious.

There's a lot of little things happening that aren't really suspicious when you look at them individually, but seeing them all start to happen all at the same time seems at least odd in their timing.

It's pretty obvious that he has been going through the motions and doing the bare minimum. He's had about 5 minutes of playing hard over the last couple weeks.

So just from a simple logical standpoint, why suspend a player you are actively trying to trade? All you are doing is reducing the value you get back and it doesn't put the organization in a good light optic wise to future prospective players. Just feels like an unforced error here.

If he gets injured, he's probably opting into his player option next year vs being a FA, he's going to do the bare minimum for a roster that probably only gets as far as he can get them although the offense is no longer built around him or Bam. Butler should have been moved before the season started and Miami should have gone with developing the younger players while waiting for 2026.

His trade value is set. PHX knows what we want and they are working to make it happen. Nothing Jimmy does other than get injured going to change that now.

Jimmy is 35, teams around the league know what he is capable of when he really tries. Him playing and dropping 25/5/5 will not raise his trade value. Instead, it may actually increases the chances of him getting hobbled / injured (due to his play style) - which would surely tank his trade value.

I don't understand why can't FO just let Jimmy stay at home until a trade is finalized. He's only dragging down the team's morale and not contributing to our standings.

Im going to get a 22 jersey with Ishbia on the back to show my appreciation.

This narrative that the offense was no longer built around butler needs to die a slow and painful death for the lie that it is. The offense adjusted and made due without him, which is why you suddenly see JJJ and Jokić handling the ball so much more, but that was after Jimmy checked out and all the rest of this stuff started to happen. It’s the same damn offense and that’s not the reason for his (or Bam, since that’s part of the angle) decreased output.

Think it’s got to do with the players union. For one, you can’t just not play a guy in a volatile situation like this. Two, Heat want to put everything out in the open if this ever becomes a Jimmy butler versus Heat civil court case. Just my guess

I guess all of us who were sure that it was all about the money for Jimmy now know that it wasn't, because he's costing himself a bundle for no good reason.

He can stay home, they're just not going to pay him to do it. He signed a contract, fulfill your contract or F right off

It's almost like he was excused from shoot around to put him in a situation where he could get suspended. I don't know but saying the practice was cancelled and then the flight was moved up sure is interesting in this situation. It is pretty for this to happen now. It's a lot like the late payment to Butler, on it's own not an issue, it's the timeframe it happens. The GM tells you publicly to shut up, they don't extend you and all of a sudden, your first missed deposit happens. Maybe a coincidence, but at this point I doubt it, the public announcement that Miami would not trade Butler put a bow on it for me. The FO that doesn't leak information, the FO that has the rest of the NBA guessing what they're doing just publicly comes out and says they're not trading Butler, that's them pushing Butler's limits and yet, most of this fan base is good with bosses doing this to their employees.

I use to be pro team, it's **** like this that made me quit being a fan of teams. Chicago did their own propaganda against Butler and Thibodeau (and of course others), shipped out loyal players for the sake of money because the FO screwed up the financial future of the team.

Come on... really? The team that never leaks anything puts out a tweet/press release that they aren't trading Butler and this was supposed to fix a distraction, really?

Bro what? I know you're a butler fan but you think the Heat made him miss the flight? At some point, you're gonna have to accept that your boy is the common denominator in every bridge being burned on his way out lol.

Jimmy is digging his legacy's grave at this point. This is all on him.

He's a grown adult acting like a child.

It started by disrespecting a grown man by telling him THROUGH THE MEDIA to shut his mouth. I can't believe anyone is good with a boss publicly ripping a current employee like that, you do that in private.
