Cavs / Bulls

Post#1 » by JJ_PR » Sat Jan 18, 2025 4:10 pm

Cavs get: Dalen Terry and Torrey Craig
Bulls get: Georges Niang and two 2nds ('25 Den, '27 Mil)

Why?
Cavs adds size at the wing, a veteran forward, and duck the tax.
Bulls get some assets for a possible rebuild.

From the Bulls side, I like this. Craig is a solid role player and I'd argue he deserves to start at SF. But for reasons (some of which I understand) they prefer to go with the youth and double down on their recent decisions... like signing Pat Williams to that contract.

I love having Craig but unfortunately we just don't know what to do with him.

The Bulls sign up for that. Niang plays well against the Bulls apparently bot so but against the rest. He's a real PF which they don't have. Two 2nd's are more than the Bulls have in the next few years.

I don't get it for CLE. Terry is playing more under control and hustles on both ends but he's not a shooting threat that the defense needs to pay any attention to. Craig is becoming more and more injured, or he's sitting waiting on a trade. He'll look really good every 3-4 games but I think he's overrated

Yeah I'd do it, we could get more for Craig if he actually saw the floor because he's very productive when he gets minutes.

Unfortunately Billy doesn't want to play him when he's not injured

What I like about Terry is his physical profile. He has fantastic length and has some playmaking ability. Craig is a veteran that could help us as well.

What playmaking ability. You like the fact that he's long and athletic. That doesn't make him good at basketball.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.
