Weird that they didn't even mention George. They were talking about G-league stats for guys on other teams, but totally ignored the 24th pick in the draft who has played almost a 1000 minutes in the NBA?

Yep.

And they had no reference for players from previous years.

Yeah, when you look at this - it wouldn't have been a bad year to trade down from 3.

I was also surprised there was no mention of Kyshawn. Here’s what an article in yesterday’s “The Athletic” said about George:
George is, as Keefe often has said, a superb “connector,” the kind of player whose smarts make the game easier for teammates.”

Among our young guys Kyshawn is the only one that looks like a legit NBA player inside the arc. The problem is that he has been so bad outside of it.

^ Until recently at least. Or maybe just him finally starting to occasionally hit 3s
has me confused. But yeah, sometimes I wonder, assuming his shooting becomes
adequate or better, if he won't be the best of our draft picks this year. But of
course it's too early to tell. There have been positive signs from each of them.

I wanted the Wizards to draft him out of Marquette.

Castle back on top.

...also
The Sacramento Kings have interest in acquiring Stephon Castle in a possible De'Aaron Fox trade with the San Antonio Spurs. There is skepticism, however, that the Spurs will be willing to include him any offer. Castle was the No. 4 overall pick by the Spurs out of UConn and he has had a hugely impressive rookie season.

For the life of me I cannot understand what would make anyone think Stephon Castle is having a "good" rookie season. Let alone "hugely impressive."

I like the kid, don't get me wrong, but his TS% is an abysmal 48.9% -- &, for that matter, Bub gets 40% more rebounds than Castle. & Castle also turns the ball over 50% more than Bub.

Neither guy is having a "good" rookie year, but Bub has been a ton better than Castle.

I don't think that you can look at numbers alone when evaluating rookies--or any player for that matter.

Castle may not be the best rookie, but if you watch him play you'll see that his bball IQ, physical toughness, and outstanding D are strengths that are helping the Spurs win games.
