Just because a guy isn’t making shots doesn’t mean he isn’t playing hard. I see PG still giving max effort, diving for loose balls, etc. This team is a complete cluster F, highlighted once again by Embiid being unavailable and unreliable. Don’t know how anyone could flourish in that environment. People gotta stop with the lazy takes.

These are small wins for us that will add up if we continue losing. Like I said, I think we can catch a fee of these teams. Charlotte, Portland, Toronto, and New Orleans are four teams that we can outtank if we just stay with goal (Cooper Flagg).

The 6ers are trying to tank and Toronto & Charlotte are trying to compete it sounds like we can make a deal to ship off some of our veterans to them.

Yes, at the moment Portland, Charlotte, Toronto and NOLA don't seem to be tanking.

If we start hard tanking from now be definetively are going to be in the mix with them.

Nobody's catching WSH, and UTA is already aggressively tanking. But the 3rd spot is still attainable.

Maxey, detached George, and the rest of these guys cannot win games. We can just shut down both Martins so then we are down to only two guys that play consistently hard (Maxey and Yubusele) in the rotation.

This is a great tanking squad.

They can win games but not with Nick Nurse. He is the real tank commander.

Yeah, it could be that Nurse is actually trying and failing lol. It looks like that especially after that tweet about yelling and cursing heard from the Sixers locker room after the Nuggets loss. But then this means Nurse has lost control of the team.

The Shouting was just theater for Adam Silver and the league office. Nurse was like "Damn it you can lose but keep the damn game kind of close! Have some pride while we are tanking!"

With every passing day, the odds of falling into the bottom ~4 seem more and more plausible. I had written it off a few weeks back, but it seems like we've been getting a lot of external standings luck as of late.

Image

We started what, 2-12 to kick the season off before Joel played and helped us to seven of our wins on the season. Not only that but 4/15 of those wins have come against the lowly Hornets.

Washington is in another dimension of suck, Utah will be shutting their guys down as the year goes on and are strapped for talent anyways but after that... it's going to be close.

Scottie/RJ/Poeltl is probably better than what we'll be trotting out most nights, hopefully they don't shut Scottie down.

The Pels are finally healthy again with Dejounte/CJ/Zion, 5-1 in their last six & 7-3 in their last 10. Hopefully they can continue this streak before Zion inevitably ends up off of the court again.

Charlotte did just lose Brandon Miller for the year, which is tough - but I think the addition of a healthy Mark Williams transcends that loss on both ends. Gives LaMelo a lob threat and someone that can shut down the paint defensively.

If we revert back to our 2-12 form extrapolated out the rest of the season - that's about 6 more wins in the remaining 40 games.

Gonna be a tight finish! Let's hope Morey and co. do the right thing.

1000% agree. Glad you've changed your mind after going in on Tyrese to start the year when he was without George, Jared, Joel and hardly had Yabu playing with him. Many still going at it him in this situations

You guys just need to secure top 4 worst record and probability of losing pick would be only 19%

You can always pray to have Spurs without Admiral type of season.

Two totally different situations. People are calling PG cooked and lazy. I never said those things about Maxey. I said his inefficient chucking wasn't impressive early on and he can’t be counted on to carry a team. To date, he still hasn’t done anything to prove otherwise…that doesn't mean I don't think he isn't trying his best or wouldn't be better with a fully functioning roster. He's just limited.

This is the hope. There are some uncanny similarities here. Robinson played 6 games early in the season before being shut down after missing about 15 games to start the season, very very much like Embiid if he does end up being shut down.

The one year tank was in Robinson's age 31 season and this is Embiid's age 30 season.

The Spurs were able to effectively tank without Robinson because their team was built around complementary players to service Robinson, very much like the Sixers built around Embiid.

The Spurs had the second best odds to win the lottery and the Sixers won't get to the best odds either as the Bullets are in a different vortex of sucktitude.

Cooper Flagg is no Tim Duncan but still appears to be a generational talent.

Need the Hornets to beat Portland tonight and we need to lose to the Cavs. New Orleans needs to beat Memphis but I doubt that happens unless Zion shows up.

Issue is that Jo won't magically get better because he rests the rest of the season. He will not grow more meniscus, it's bone on bone basically. Kyle Neubeck mentioned this in their latest PHLY Podcast on whether they should sit Embiid the rest of the season. It's something he has to learn to deal with. Playing is the only way for him to do so. I do think we should still hank, I just don't like our odds with Jo next season either. Needs to get a good 20-30 games out of him and then trade him at this point. He'll never last a season, or a whole playoffs. It's sad, but it's the conclusion I've come to as one of his biggest fans.

Lol, of course my first try on tankathon, and the Sixers get the #1 pick. Frozen envelope confirmed.

When is the league going to step in and do something about the Wizards? They have had only 7 winning seasons in the past 25 years. And the majority of those winning seasons were like 3 or 4 games over .500. For a league that claims that they care about the product and integrity of the game, they sure don't seem to give a hell about the Wizards
