One month later I wonder where Cade ranks on this list? He is a better player than Scottie Barnes in my opinion and is having a better year than say, number 6 Haliburton. I would say definitely top 8, maybe top 5? Outside of Wemby, I think Cade you can at least make a case against any of the other guys. Like he's actually having a pretty similar year to #2 Anthony Edwards.

Naw, one month later, the comment directly above yours looks idiotic.

He's nothing like Ant. He actually likes to pass (and does it well).

Ant has the look of somebody who could be virtually unstobbable at both ends. He's scary like that. Right now Cade is playing a better overall game. It's a snapshot in time and things can change quickly, but at this exact moment in time that is where it stands, imo.

Ant seems immature.

And Cade seemed 35 when he was 20.

Which is why he's an awesome player to have as your franchise cornerstone - Duncan-like in that regard.

I’ve always maintained that Cade was the best player in his class and has been end to end when healthy. The nba has flipped in big guys are over projected early in their careers because it used to be the position that took more time to dominate. We’ve seen it first hand when we thought Drummond would be a potential HOFer, Greg Monroe an all star, and to a lesser extent we thought Duren would already be a defensive juggernaut.

The league has changed and ball dominant guards now have the highest learning curve because their job isn’t made easier when they take the NBA leap. They are expected to maintain the same duties against significantly better players, and in Cade’s case, with significantly inferior teammates.

Just as an aside, if Cade finishes the season with these numbers, he will be tied with Oscar Robinson as the youngest to ever do it, and the 10th to ever average them for a season.

Slight tangent to the original topic, but in the game that Ant scored 53 he only had 2 assists so created 57 points for his team. Cade scored 40 but with his 9 assists he created 61 points for his team. Of course all the media outlets and posts on Twitter/X churned out the Ant fellatio, but it was clearly Cade who was the more impactful player.

Pick 15 teams' best players this season that you'd clearly take Cade over.

I'm not sure about top 15 -- maybe top 20-30.

Surprised to see Fox with that many at the rim stops. Not the type of player I think of him as.

Ball not getting to start (even though he had the fan vote) brings Cade's chances of making the team up from about 75% to at least 90% now... He'd for sure be the biggest snub if he didn't make it. I can't really see coaches giving it to Ball as no one is going to have to face an angry motivated Ball in the playoffs. So really there's 4 guards that can make it and the pool is.

Cade, Dame, Trae, Garland, Herro, Ball, Maxey.... four of those guys are making it.... I think its pretty easily Maxey, Ball and Herro left out.

Interestingly enough, NBA players voted for Ball over Cade, and Trae Young over Cade as an all-star and Cade was tied with Garland from NBA player votes.

NBA Media put Cade ahead of Ball and Trae and Cade was only behind Garland, Mitchell and Brunson at the guard spot.

Cade should've been ahead of Brunson, imo
