I have a question

Why would Woody hire a coach before a GM?

Because he's a giant f*cking idiot

I think everyone assumed Glenn and Newmark would be a package deal. But now we have to sweat it out, because Woody Johnson's kids may have told him about some memes or Madden 25 issues that changed his mind.

I'm a little nostalgic over this hire. I loved Aaron Glenn and was still a pretty devoted fan back in my 20s. The Curtis Martin/Testaverde years. I remember that 1998 AFCCG game like it was yesterday.

I don't know a thing, but reading up on him, I'm curious, maybe even a tiny bit optimistic, though he'll need time to turn this team around.

Multiple reports confirm the Jets have not reached an official deal with any candidate at this time. This doesn't mean Mougey will not be hired (as Anderson reported), but does mean nothing is official yet.

So we didn't hire anyone yet.

Read that he was against making Hackett as a head coach for Denver, was pushing for his college teammate Kevin O'Connell who now coaches the Vikes.

Jets told him they're moving on, but he's still eating their cap unless I'm missing something. Jets gotta rebuild.

Details (which I'm sure a lot of people already know)

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/glazer-jets-are-moving-on-from-aaron-rodgers/ar-AA1yHMSp?ocid=msedgntp&pc=ACTS&cvid=f4fbfda9fec4496f9cd83577dc5a85fb&ei=9

Jets informed Rodgers but won't release him until after June 1. He's 14 million against their cap in 2025, 35 million in 2026.

Jets have limited cap space for 2025. Probably not great in 2026 with Rodgers 35 million. Maybe 2027 will be their year. hehe

https://jetsxfactor.com/2025/01/14/ny-jets-cap-space-carry-2025/#:~:text=Per%20Over%20the%20Cap%2C%20the%20Jets%20will%20carry,the%20salary%20cap%20carryover%20list%20with%20%2450.1%20million.

I wonder if any teams will be interested in Rodgers as a free agent QB next year. He's not awful. Closer to fringe/average now.

Whatever direction the Jets take on any move, you can be sure it's the wrong one.

New GM, new Coach. I'm going to die on the hill of "wait and see" rather than the assumption of more of the same. I can't help it. I always look forward to the new season. There's always a chance they'll draft well.

Though they are somewhat salary strapped the next 2 years and I have no clue who their QB will be next year. Anyone? Any guesses? Should they tank and go for a top pick in 2026? Are they bad enough to tank?

It's going to be another painful season. Nothing good will happen until Woody sells the team. He's an imbecile.
