The core pieces of the deal would be something like this:
Chicago trades:
Vuc
Patrick Williams
Portland pick
Chicago receives:
Ayton
Kris Murray
Guil Santos or other low salary player from GS
additional draft compensation from GS
The Bulls want to move on from Williams to whom they unwisely granted an extension last off-season. They take a flyer on Ayton over Vuc while getting a larger expiring deal or freeing up more cap-space as Ayton's deal expires in 2026.
Golden State trades:
Looney or Payton
Shroeder
Guil Santos or other low salary player to Chicago
additional draft compensation to Chicago
Golden State receives:
Vuc
Reath or Banton
Golden State gets a much needed center upgrade without giving up much of value (depending on the pick compensation)
Portland trades:
Ayton
Murray
Reath or Banton
Portland receives:
Patrick Williams
Looney or Payton
Shroeder
own 1st returned from Chicago
Portland frees up playing time for Clingan and decides to keep Rob Williams over Ayton. They get their pick back freeing up a lot of transactional opportunity the next three years. They get more cap space this upcoming off-season but take on the risk of Williams never turning the corner.

Does this framework make sense? What would the loose pieces look like to make it work?
Chicago - Golden State - Portland

Vuc to GSW for compensation makes a lot of sense.
Using the Portland pick to turn Williams into Ayton seems really bad.

Re: Chicago - Golden State - Portland
With the exception of Patrick Williams, and don't downplay him in PORT, who is needed for salary, I like it. Take Dalen Terry, Jevon Carter, Torrey Craig instead all shorter deals
Bulls would be happy with Ayton, Murray even Santos after he torched them last night. They'll take any picks floating around
Try just try to realize the VP who just signed Patrick Williams to a 5 year contract 4 months ago was not struck by lightning and had some life altering change in his thinking. Should Karnasovas get fired whoever takes his place may want to move Williams but your rational is severely flawed

As a portland fan, I'd swap out Williams for expirings to make the deal work .

As would I - but PDX would have to cut a TON of guys to make that type of deal work. I think 4 actually.
We probably could dump Reath and Banton into TPEs for cash or meh SRP. That still leaves us needing to open 2 roster spots. Walker could be cut I supoose, but clearing that last spot is tough.
That being said - this works.
PDX OUT - Ayton
PDX IN - GPIII, Looney, Carter, Terry, Santos, FRP returned from CHI
GSW OUT - GPIII, Looney, Waters, Santos
GSW IN - Vuc
CHI OUT - Vuc, Carter, Terry, PDX FRP
CHI IN - Ayton
PDX would buy-out GPIII and Looney here IMO.

Re: Chicago - Golden State - Portland
Warriors don’t really need Reath or Banton and would likely look for a Vuc deal without Portland involved. Probably not looking to deal Schroder without the deal being expanded to include someone like Coby Whote. Need a backup PG

Banton plays PG...or perhaps more properly stated trades off being the primary initiator typically when he's in the game. He's played 70% of his minutes at PG so far this year.
He basically always is trying to get to the basket, and suffers from tunnel vision sometimes, but when he's having "good" games he's an effective 3 level scorer and willing passer. He's not a great team defender by any means, but at 6'9" with a plus wingspan he can be disruptive presence to other backup ballhandlers.

Except for an improvement in his shooting percentages from "bad" to "almost passable" -- significant, but not a leap --Banton's scouting report is the same as it was his rookie year in TOR
In a no-win argument, the first poster to Let It Go will at least retain some peace of mind

No argument here...he did set a 0-15 record for 3pt futility, as I recall against SAC last April.
