Hello, I'd appreciate your input, in votes and replies, on these following trades:
1. Cam Johnson & Watford to Houston for Brooks, Whitmore & Rockets' 2028 1st (top 10 protected)
2. Cam Johnson (and 5.1M TPE) for Jabari, Tate & Rockets' 2028 1st (top 10 protected)
I would like to hear in particular from Rockets fans, who is valued more and considered as a long-term building block, Whitmore or Jabari?

Re: Poll: HOU-BKN, 2 Versions of Cam to Houston
I think the bigger and first question is why does Houston need/want CamJ? For me Amen has already shown star potential and should remain in the starting lineup. So how much usage is really left for CamJ after FVV, Green, Sengun, and Amen all dominate the ball. How much better is he in a low usage role than the minutes that are going to Brooks, Jabari, Eason, and Whitmore.
Until Houston gets off Green they really don't need a guy like CamJ. Maybe in the offseason if they decide to shake things up and at least one of Green or FVV are gone then maybe they would consider a trade for someone like him.
On Value:
I think the 1st trade is close on value. On the 2nd, I think Jabari likely still holds around the same value as CamJ so I don't see Houston as the team adding a 1st there.

Keeping Amen in the starting lineup is actually one of the biggest reasons for this move, especially in the Brooks-to-Nets version. Cam is a low-usage spacing weapon who's also much more efficient than Brooks.

I doubt BKN wants Brooks - and the Rockets do not want to lose him. His attitude and defense is needed.
Jabari is still a work in progress - but not wanting to trade him for a backup SF (I would start Brooks, Amen and Eason ahead of Cam).

I don't think the first is needed in the Jabari trade and I'm not super convinced it would need to be there in the Whitmore trade, but that one seems closer?

I do not see BK doing any trade for only 1 1st if its protected. They are most favorably looking at draft capital than players. If these had no protections I believe it might be worth Sean Marks consideration.

The Nets are getting too much in either proposal. As a Rockets’ fan, I’d have to think the organization still values Jabari Smith Jr. higher than Cam Whitmore.

Houston has interest in Cam Johnson because they lack perimeter shooting. The Pistons and Cavaliers have both used zones against them in their last two games with great success.

I'm fine with him on Houston, but use their expiring deals and then figure out incentive (not Jabari). No reason to give up Brooks.
