Why are we giving up a 1st for Lavine when everyone else is asking for a 1st to take his contract?
Maybe a second or two for Bobby at most. Levine you're giving up two bad contracts, it's not expirings.

Giving up 0 bad contracts.
Pat and Kris aren't bad contracts? Are you trolling?

Pat is the only one. You're not finding a better playoff performer for Mids contract.

They just need to be capable of being a high usage player in short spurts when Dame/Giannis are on the bench. A guy who can run an effective two-man game with either of them.

Khris is obviously capable of that with Giannis. He and Dame haven't quite gotten there, but I actually am fairly certain that they'd play quite well off of one another with more seasoning.

Can LaVine do that?

This is completely fair. As I said, I'd just keep Khris, but Lavine, if he accepted his role, could be a really good fit on offense (he's a 2/3, not a guard exclusively to me).

Play him with Dame as little as possible.

Risky for sure, but a far better choice than Butler to me.

You can't not play him with Dame. Dame plays 36 minutes a game. You can't pay $43 million for 12 mpg.

I understand you don't actually want him, I'm just pointing out how he's a terrible fit next to Dame.

Again, fair.

All I mean is that one of Dame or Lavine at all times with Giannis is pretty good.

Khris is better though.

I know. And I just mentioned how he shot 50% and 47% in his last two postseasons, including the one where he destroyed us and won a game 7 in Boston.

Has he not shot 43% over his last 3 playoff series? He has. I don't care how he shot when Jrue defended him like a brainless moron and forced Jimmy into all his favorite moves. Just look what happens when he's steered left.

No, your 43% number is way off.

Well you said 0 bad contracts and then said Pat is a bad contract. It's hard to keep track of what the hell you're saying since you keep flip flopping positions.

To be exact, he shot .432, .420, and .413 over his last 3 playoff series. Those were versus NY, Boston, and Denver.

two things:

1) no chance miami takes on Beal or Lavine, their whole plan is to go after doncic in '26 and either of those two would need to be moved in order to offer LD a max

2) take the emotions out of it and it makes total sense to do a khris/bobby for lavine move, he's healthier, more athletic, younger, and it frees up a slot to sign Rollins, bonus points if horst gets pat in the deal too

Thought you were referring to Khris and Bobby. Pretty sure the Bucks were offered the same deal for Bobby that Charlotte got for PJ Washington. I'm guessing Bobby signs a multi year deal for the MLE in the offseason, but some are projecting more.

The guy who played 25 games last year is healthy?

People are too worried about creating a slot for Rollins. If we don't make a trade, we can just cut one of our scrubs. I'm guessing Livingston.

healthier than khris isn't a high bar, and he's been perfectly healthy this season

we'd probably cut marjon

Individual series? If you’re doing that, why are you ignoring a round from the same postseason? Whatever. I’m not gonna argue about how Khris Middleton, literally on his last legs, is somehow more valuable than Jimmy Butler in the playoffs.

Any deal for Beal, Lavine or Jimmy that has us giving up the 31 first is an automatic no from me. I’d rather just roll the dice with what we have.

Maybe we'd cut Marjon, but he's closer to the rotation than Livingston, and Livingston will be cut in the offseason. Either way, neither matters.

That's not the argument anyone is making, as it's not a 1 for 1 trade. It's also Portis, and possibly a 1st and a 2nd. If we give up the 2nd, the 1st has to be unprotected.

People bag on Bobby, but he averaged 19 points and 13 rebounds last playoffs, with a team best +/-. We have no replacement for him.

I don't think we'd need to deal a first for LaVine.

Jimmy I think we would -- though not unprotected. And maybe we do what the Suns did and convert it into multiple picks first.

Beal

The problem is, can we trade Pat without giving up our 2nd? If we trade that 2nd, we have no way to trade our 1st protected. We can't roll the pick into the future, 7 years rule.

Who exactly would that be because I can't seem to think of one? Maybe the kings are dumb enough?

Can the Lakers tell AD that Bobby is the center he's been dying for?

Warriors, Clippers, Miami, and Memphis are my favorites.

Also, what's the dumb enough stuff about?

Are Bucks fans aware that Giannis/Bobby lineups have now outperformed Giannis/Brook lineups? Yet we never see the same energy against Brook, despite Bobby consistently needing to anchor bench lineups.

Is there a frontcourt replacement big/tweener who’s within a similar or slightly cheaper salary slot as Bobby that you’d like to see targeted by the Bucks as a replacement for Bobby? Someone who’s probably more well rounded as a two way (O & D) player.

…or do you think the Bucks are best off sticking with Bobby and trying to platoon his bench role with a cheap young athletic and defensive-minded frontcourt presence; the aim being to substitute him for Bobby in bad Bobby & possibly Brook matchups. If so, do you have any names in mind?
