Or the team gets better & we still draft a stud somewhere between 6 & 8..........or we still win the lottery & move up to top 3.

There are so many variables that are not in.our control.

I think all.of the injuries at the beginning of the season were a gift & it allowed us to 99.9% stay in the lottery. I think it was completely unrealistic to think this team was ever going to finish with a bottom 3 record if healthy.

Which is why Golden State's best player in the last 15 years was their 2nd overall pick and not their 7th or 11th pick.

Who was the highest pick on our championship roster?

This is such bad logic I'm surprised you are posting it. Just because Kawhi/Giannis was drafted at 15, doesn't mean it's not better to draft top 3 than at 15

We all know it's better to draft higher than not. More options, higher-value prospects, you just have better chances to get real talent. That guys sometimes come through later on in the draft is true, but that doesn't mean it's ideal to chase the 8th pick instead of the 1st pick, you know?

He can't accept the cost of picking higher - losses. So he ignores logic and goes about survivorship bias being the reason we should aim for outside the top 4.

It IS tough for a franchise to juggle losing enough to get good picks and keeping things interesting enough to draw fans. And we have not had amazing luck in the draft on balance.

Imagine if we do land Cooper Flagg, it won't be hard to draw fans for next season even if we are missing playoffs. If any year is worth a shot losing as much as you can it's this year (and the Wemby year)

Flagg would be excellent. But we all know that the most likely outcome for us is to sneak in at #2, lmao.

I much rather shoot my shot at a 10 instead of settling for 5s

I'd love that. Big fan of Flagg.

It would take a massive amount of luck for us to land him. Fingers crossed.

I never once said it wasn't better. I am just being realistic about the Raptors situation & more importantly, our lack of control over the situation as fans.

If we don't land a top 3 pick, it will be up to the front office to find other ways to build a contender.

The Raptors just won 4 our of 5 games playing a bunch of veterans & they have a super easy schedule coming up againt a bunch of teams with inferior talent (who are also hell bent on losing every game).

I am still going to enjoy watching, regardless of the outcome. At the end of the day, it's just basketball.

I am not going to.lose my mind because the local sports team won a bunch of games.

ATLTimekeeper wrote:The win is great, but why the **** is Scottie taking a key technical with 5 minutes left and Gradey is on the floor  This team is completely out of control. They're getting wins from the play of guys who are balling out of desperation to get OFF the team.

Pretty much. Not sure all want out.

The team was losing with Poeltl because Darko would play 4 rookies off the bench. Demanding they trade Poeltl is just stupid. And not seeing what is happening.

They have to move Bruce Brown and Olynyk quickly if they want to maintain a good lottery spot. BRK already moved some bodies and is on a path to complete destruction of a season. The have to move both of those and it has to be for players they can waive and any picks they can get. And if they don't want to move Olynyk, then they need to move Mitchell.

They seemed to be getting away to just benching Boucher periodically for some **** crazy reason. If they aren't going to re-sign him, then keep him healthy and move him too.

Move some bodies and re-open room for Battle, Mogbo. They are good but mistake prone and will lose and learn.

Team looks more and more like it will be battling for a play in... not certain though if return of IQ helps the tank, lol... he hasn't impressed.... but he needs to get back into game form... Boucher and Brown have really helped with wins...

I hope they extend Boucher... and trade Brown and Olnyk...
