Dude is an Allstar in my book.

no doubt about it. he just does so much on the court and is the heart of our team.

as for the T idc - it comes with the passion he plays with.

Yes...that kind of prodduction from a 5th option is insane. I wasnt able to see this game (not on league pass) but ill be damned if this team isn't a contender, add a primed Mitch and some bench pieces to this?

Also cant forget the asterisk for the minutes police - there was a 10 minutes basket delay issue in the start of the 4th quarter. Thibs pulled the bench guys pretty quick after action resumed since he knew his starters got a decent amount of rest.

If they want to get salty they can take it to the chitpost thread

All I see the ones who defend Thibs do is post insults, but no actual articulation about why we're wrong and they are right

If you can't state your position without insults then zip it

Here are the reasons why TONIGHT calling thibs a moron is ridiculous, for one Kings can score quick
And in bunches had their starters in, second they scored 143 points on 41 assists, that means the team is playing very unselfish which is to the credit of the coach who used to be known as a iso heavy offense, he thibs has allowed the offense to become modern, i know for sure if the team gave up 143 points many would be bashibg thibs for his defensive scheme, but when they score like this, you don’t want to credit the coach at all.

Even if we don't score a point and just run out the clock on every possession we would still win by a healthy margin. You're embarrassing yourself.

because watching kat in a blow out with 3mins to go get hacked and fall into a photographer is worrisome

On a night like tonight this is such a nitpick, he literally came out the next whistle.. again on a night the team played so incredibly unselfish to be harping on 30 seconds of KAT when he literally sat almost the entire second half, where thibs should be praised for leaving KAT on the bench for a long stretch and kept precious in the game, should be your comment..

KAT was in at the end of the game to try to get 20 pts so all starters would get 20+.
Not a great reason, but must have been Kat's call. He was hell bent on getting there.

Tell me how long KAT played after the 3 minute mark, when christie took out his starters? You my friend are embarrassing yourself with your nitpicking. Enjoy the unselfish beautiful game they played not 30 seconds of KAT before he was removed after sitting basically the entire second half

The good news is if we had 4 days rest between each game we might be a 65 win team

If you genuinely believe Thibs can coach a team to a title, then I will respect your belief in him.

I have zero faith in his ability to manage his rotations and field a squad with any legs left deep into the playoffs.

But even more than than the minutes issue is Thibs gets outcoached by better coaches routinely and rarely makes in-game adjustments. He is a coach who can't figure out how to bust a zone defense and he's supposed to be so knowledgeable on defense.

Have you watched all of the games this season. I've missed maybe a game an a half. And what I can tell you is our offense is wildly inconsistent and it does revert to ISO ball a lot, sometimes for the majority of games. The primary reason we're able to score at a higher clip is we have lots of talent and most of them are also willing passers. We have multiple all-star talents and lots of scoring power and that tends to mask lots of Thibs inadequacies like his inability to craft a consistently competent defense without his usual dependence on a rim protector like Mitch.

Do you want to win a championship? This roster should be good enough to make a run THIS YEAR, but with Thibs I'm afraid we won't contend. You're free to disagree, but I don't think we have much chance of going deep in the playoffs with him at the helm.

Now, back to the game, if KAT suffered an injury after being put back in at the 3 minute mark for absolutely no good reason would you be in here defending Thibs as a great coach who just got unlucky with KAT's injury?

Because the last I checked, successful coaches pull their starters soon after they are assured of a victory. But not Thibs. I consider that malpractice.

He did nothing special. SAC played zero defense. He Knicks scored efficiently.

He did something stupid though. Putting KAT in up 21 with 3 minutes left. Alex Len makes contact and KAT goes sailing into the crowd. Risking your ALL STAR CENTER in the waning minutes of a blow out is dumb.

yeah, sabonis is a traffic cone. a healthy kat puts up nice numbers tonight. also don't like that he only took one 3 either. he is too good to only get 1 up.

SAC's defense was awful. Ours was only marginally better.

Our offense was better than theirs, that's all. We have better players.

When two teams barely play defense then the money is on the one with more scoring talent, which was us.

Not exactly a great coaching achievement.

We're going to face some actual defenses soon though.

And our defense will be put to the test. I want to see how Thibs handles the switches and crossovers the Grizz will throw at us, because drop coverage won't handle what they do.

Some of you just watch these games to see how many minutes each player plays which is sad and pathetic.

Return to New York Knicks
