I had wanted Doc to play him more. Especially when we needed young legs in the 4th quarter

Watch a Herd game, you'll know why he didn't play him. Not even decent in that league yet.

If we wanted to try Crowder at the four, why not go get Butler to start at the three and shift to the four when Giannis is center?

Long 2s suck the momentum out of your team. We'd be up like 4 or 5 and then instantly start bricking isolation long 2s or contested enough 3s... I get the killer instinct stuff and heat checks but figure out earlier when it's not your night for that and stop.. keep running plays early in the clock and take the most open look you get.

So, Intuit Dome is basically a live sporting event episode of Black Mirror. You have to download their Intuit Dome app, create an ID linked to your facial recognition and credit card. In order to buy a beer, you scan your digital ID, to enter the patio area, you scan your digital ID, to re-enter from the patio, you scan your digital ID. The arena is a giant information collecting computer. It just felt utterly soulless.

And then there was the game. Maybe I'm naive, but I could not believe the refs falling for Harden's blatant bull time and time again. Feel like I might have witnessed Khris's last game as a Buck. He was absolutely dreadful. Powell was driving at will. 6 points felt insurmountable, we could not get a stop-- easy drive to the basket or a Harden foul every damn possession. Main positive was Giannis being locked in from the stripe.

Yeah, ran out of gas is right. Really well played game through three. Rollins' disastrous third obviously didn't help. Hopefully a learning a experience there.

True , but it would help if the shots fall when he does pass! That's why I think the assist stat is one of the most overrated! The great pass that actually creates a basket as opposed to the ho hum pass to the corner for a three, that's what I think as assist.

We shot 37% from three for the game. That wasn't the issue in this game.

Realgm posters: Portis is a net negative defender. Trade him.

Also Realgm posters: We lost because we didn’t have Portis.

Doc needed to play Ajax more in this game you start him but play him 11 minutes I would have put him at the 4 just for rebounding purposes instead of playing prince 37 minutes and Middleton was really struggling this game.

After watching it on tape (I was in bed before the game started):

1) It is rare to see a boxscore where the losing team shoots a higher percentage on threes, shoots a higher overall percentage and shoots and makes more free throws. Turning the ball over 7 more times and getting no rebounding from your bench was the problem.

2) Middleton looked ok and was a positive before this game. This game he was horrible in every aspect. Those who want to trade Middleton finally have some ammunition. But every other team saw what we did. Who wants him?

Going back to Portis being out, playing Lopez 41 is insane. Can you not have Giannis play center for 18-20 minutes in a spot game?

And even if Doc would do this / or Giannis would do it, it shows just how thin the front court is.

Doc having Brook play 40 minutes (over 10 more than the Clippers lone big) is just awful coaching and his stubborn ways played a huge role in the loss. As is him being set in his ways to when Dame and Giannis come in and out.

I think it's unacceptable to have played Brook that much, especially in the 4th, but I also think we kinda ran out of guys. No Green and Portis were killers tonight. Middleton and Rollins were really bad all night, Trent shot well but wasn't playing D or rebounding, Dre kept fouling, Prince played a great 6 minutes then decided to get his cardio in. I dunno. I guess I try to close it out with Dame, Trent, Middleton, Prince, Giannis and hope they have it in them?

We're still missing a "**** hits the fan" group.

Dame, Green, Middleton(?), Giannis, Brook(?)

In 2021 when we went down to 6 guys against Brooklyn, I trusted those 6 guys to keep it together. It sucked to only have 6, but at least we had 6!

Brook is even more situational. Middleton and Pat are creaky. I dunno, but I wonder if we need another rock solid guy for playoff games that feel kind the 4th did last night.

Sure, but then we have no 3. We need 2 actual forwards to fuly arm Giannis at center lineups.

That's Middleton there in the corner
He couldn't look much more forlorner
He waits for a pass
So to show he's badass
Giannis last night -- a Middleton scorner

Lots of plays last night when Khris was deployed to a corner waiting for a kickout pass that never came. That was just the flow of the game. Blaming him for that lack of action is lazy thinking twisted to fit a narrative.
