MEM and TOR

MEM trades Edey and Clark for Poeltl from TOR

MEM gets a solid and experienced center to make some noise in the playoff

TOR gets a young center prospect and front court depth, both happen to be Canadian and will help the tank job

Hard no for Memphis. But understandable.

I don't see Edey being more impactful than Poeltl. I would rather get a 15th pick in the draft and see what prospects drop from the top 10.

There’s some logic to this, but Memphis will likely reject the offer as they’re super high on Edey.

The way to make this more likely is to add some talent so that Memphis thinks they can get more rounds in the playoffs. They definitely need to consolidate some minutes for the playoffs.

If Marcus Smart doesn’t look like he’s gonna return healthy, Memphis might be interested in Bruce Brown. Brown has been frequently scoring >12 pts and good defense lately, which is the Marcus Smart role.

How’s this:

Jak Poeltl, Bruce Brown
for
Zach Edey, Marcus Smart, Brandon Clarke

Memphis isn't moving Edey especially after drafting him so high in last years draft. Jakob is better now but IMHO Edey fits their timeline

Memphis has no interest in Poeltl.

Also, feeling lazy to go into assessing the amount that might incentivize Memphis to move its starting center paid 6m for the next 4 years.
