I was sure this was a joke on the first read, but it seems like you actually believe it.

Instead of asking why, and getting some reply about improvement (as if players on other teams do not improve), may I ask you to consult the list of recent All-NBA players and provide a list of those whom you expect Gradey to equal or surpass?

in the last 6 games, gradey has been our only negative player (played at least 3 games).

114.9 ortg
118.8 drtg
-3.9 net

off court, team is 107.8 / 91.8 / +16.0

eye test backs this up.

i think he is just too physically weak right now. he really needs to become a knock down catch and shoot guy from 3 to offset some of his really bad defense.

offense is +1.4 with him on the court but -12.4 worse on defense. eye test backs this up.

Yeah. That's always been my issue. He has to be an ELITE shooter to make up for his defensive issues. He has a lot ot work to do if he wants to be a regular rotatiom player. I think he is 2 years away & that's IF he puts in an insane amount of work on his body & his game.

I think Walter is closer to being a legit rotation player.

This is actually wild.

Why someone would set such an obviously near impossible feature for gradey and then say it will happen in a few years is beyond me. This is why people start hating on players. Unrealistic overhyping of prospects.

And I would say I’m one of the more optimistic gradey fans on here but damn all nba in a “few” seasons?

Yeah I am a Dick believer....but still.thinks he should be a bench scorer who can come in and replace someone like IQ to at least be a 3pt threat out there.

That's why I thought it had to be a joke. It still reads like a joke. Maybe it is and he's just committing to the bit.

Oh ye of little faith. He's going to take a massive leap next season. He'll be an All Star by season 4 or 5 and All NBA by season 6 or 7. He's going to be one of the most feared scorers in the league in short order, with an all around game that will have teams fearing sending double teams at him.

As a mod, you should have the decency to put this in green font so I don't embarrass myself any further.

Gradey isn't spacing the floor well for us, he's been terrible at shooting this season.

Barnes is shooting 28%. Barrett is doing better at 35%. Then we have Gradey at 35%, which is even worse if you discount his corner shooting (which has been bad too).

Shead, Mitchell, and Poeltl's 3P% isn't even worth discussing.

We literally have 0 shooters in our starting line up as of now. That has to be a major concern for us and the front office. I would personally try to move off of Gradey and sell his potential to another front office for a big man prospect.

Gradey obviously hasn't been shooting the way we would all like (and I imagine he or the team as well), but spacing is something different.

He's definitely spacing the floor because of how teams defend him. They still have someone dedicated to chasing him all of the court, they almost always go over on screens instead of under, and when teams hedge or double on Scottie in the post it's almost never from Gradey's defender.

All of that contributes to spacing. Now sure, if he keeps shooting like this throughout next year, teams might adjust how they play him, but he is definitely providing spacing at the moment.

I would also argue that Poeltl's screen setting provides spacing of a different kind, but that's a separate discussion.

Move off a second-year player? C'mon man.

It is tough to do, but people really need to look outside the scope of now. Now is not a constant. What is happening now most likely won't be happening later.

People seem to have quickly forgotten how all the Dick bashing last year has turned out this year. Now that he is struggling, my guess is the same people are back to bashing. Same concept with Agabji. He really improved over last year.

When players put in the work, it takes time to yield results. Enjoy the ride.

Hopefully he takes some useful things away from the experience with those other guys.

A bright moment in a boring season.

Hopefully Dick has a 'long' and 'satisfying' career. He really is a rising star.

Shead should also be on the Rookie team; how is McCain on the team when he is out for the season?

There will be a few injury replacements. Brandon Miller from the sophomore team is also out for the season.

Not sure if they'll do a straight rookie-for-rookie swap and likewise for the sophomores or if it'll be by position, but there are a few rookie candidates that might get in before Shead (even though I'm a big fan). Kelel Ware is starting to heat up for Miami, and Ryan Dunn is a guy that's had more minutes and starts than Shead and so arguably has had a bigger impact.

But congrats to Gradey on making the squad! Should be fun to watch him play in this kind of game. Hopefully he ends up on a team with people who will actually pass it to him when he's open.

Yah, Shead's had a good year but I'd say Collier, Ware, and Dunn are all above him for replacements

Also spacing the floor is about how defenses react to you more than just your shooting percentage. Teams definitely guard Gradey likes he's an elite shooter and that does provide spacing for us
