His issue with Miami is entirely them saying they will not extend him beyond his player option.

Not entirely. His article about finding joy at the start of the month says he hasn’t been used the way he is since his first few years in the league. He wants to be dominant again.

If you think this isn't about money for Butler i got some beach front property to sell you.

the Milwaukee Bucks making a major move for LaVine. In this deal, the Bucks would acquire Zach LaVine, while the Chicago Bulls would receive Beal and draft capital. The Phoenix Suns would trade Butler to the Bucks, the Miami Heat would land Khris Middleton, Pat Connaughton, and draft capital, and the Detroit Pistons would receive Bobby Portis.

Yes, quoting present year stats is such a nostalgia filled move. Not having the ability to ignore the other assets outgoing in a trade is so nostalgia filled. Making trades that utilize those assets to give the team an actual playoff caliber 8 man rotation is such an emotional response.

Or, maybe, some are being pragmatic while others aimlessly panic.
