Bulls Have Discussed Bradley Beal Trade With Suns

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jan 27, 2025 2:45 pm

The Chicago Bulls have discussed a trade with the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat involving Bradley and Beal and Jimmy Butler. The Suns continue to seek a trade for Butler and need to find a destination for Beal in order for a trade to be executed. While Chicago's level of interest in Beal is not yet known, the sides have held talks involving him.

"We're dancing around this because I've just been burned on aggregation, but the bottom line is the Bulls and the Suns have talked and the concept of Bradley Beal ending up in Chicago has been discussed," said Brian Windhorst. "I'm not saying it's going to happen. I'm not saying it close or whatever. Obviously, Beal has a no-trade clause."

Beal, who is owed $110 million over the next two seasons, is averaging 17.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 32.9 minutes in 31 games this season with the Suns. Beal's agent has said he doesn't plan on giving up his no-trade clause as a condition of a trade if he indeeds waive it to allow his exit from the Suns.

Bradley and Beal and Jimmy Butler

If you trade Bradley and Beal separately, the contract should split evenly too, right? Smart.

They have been trying forever to get out from under LaVine, only to trade for Beal? Windbag needs to simmer down.

If Suns think Beal is not the guy to contend with, they are delusional to think it will be better with Jimmy.

This is not the 2023 Jimmy anymore, let alone younger injuries free Jimmy.

Doesn’t it cut 2 years off Lavine’s contract?

Why would the Bulls want Beal and why would Beal want to play on the Bulls? They already have one bad contract in Lavine whose playing better than Beal.

...and adds about $16m+ in salary (plus however much more in luxury tax payments as well).

Two is better than one.

I think (if this is even credible) that CHI would try and pair Beal and Levine. Not wise, but it is CHI!

Fake trade time:
Beal to CHI (along with the three pics from PHX and a 1st from LAL.)
Jimmy to PHX
Vuc to LAL
Vincent/Vanderbilt/Lonzo/Duarte to MIA

Whoa... Beal and FOUR first rounders? It sounds insane but also realistic.... I hate the modern NBA

Oh lol.

Yeah I don’t get it then, unless there’s some solid compensation.

The three picks from PHX for taking Beal's contract are terrible. The Pick from LAL would be for Vuc. This was mostly just a joke trade. Realistically MIA would want at least one of those picks. Maybe CHI joins the fun and agrees to send the 2029 pick to MIA, making it the least favorable of MIN/CLE/UTH/CHI.... so in 2029, CHI would get the least favorable of MIN/CLE/UTH or their own pick, whichever is more favorable; the other goes to MIA

Why on earth would Beal waive his no trade clause to go to Chicago? Bad weather, horrible owner, questionable GM, bad team, not winning any time soon.

Why would a player, currently coming off the bench for a middling team, stop a trade to another middling team. Neither team is winning anything, but in CHI (or anywhere else) he may get back to averaging 23/5/5 and feeling useful again.

If he stops a trade, he will continue to be viewed as the source of all the problems in PHX. He will be disliked by his teammates and outright hated by the fans. Why would anyone chose that life, especially to stay on a team going nowhere? I think he would approve a trade to almost anywhere.
