One more.

We dont have another true center on the roster other than Ware.

I hear we have a 3x All-Star center who is also 4x all-defense as a center

Forward in my book.

Posting this for some Maluach highlights, but I keep getting caught up watching Flagg.

How many easy buckets could Flagg get Bam and Ware?

Give me a real playmaker with can legit D. He should be able to help Herro in defense and make great passes to Ware.

Teams that moved up in the draft with current top 4 spot lottery.

2024-Hawks moved up 9 spots, Houston 6 spots, Spurs 1 spot

2023-Spurs 2 spots, Hornets 2 spots, PLand 2 spots

2022-Orlando 1 spot, OKC 2 spots, SAC 3 spots

2021-Detroit 1 spot, CLE 2 spots, Toronto 3 spots

2020-Minny 2 spots, Hornets 5 spots, Chicago 3 spots

2019-Pels 6 spots, Grizz 6 spots, Hawks 7 spots

The chances of jumping several spots into the top 4 seem pretty realistic.

Just starting to get familiar with this draft class. Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper seem to be in a class of their own this cycle

IF we miss the playoffs this year I'm really hoping we can get a good 2 way PG that can shot, create, and defend. Not very likely at our range but who knows.

This Fears kid looks interesting but I doubt he's still on the board at our range.

Any realistic PGs at that late lotto range that fit the bill?

Just getting into this class, but my "not really helpful" response is VJ Edgecombe. Dude is looking like exactly what Miami has been missing from the guard spot. Unfortunately, he clearly seems to be trending to be a top 5 pick. In looking at the consensus top guys, he's the one that jumps out at me as special--most likely to push to make a case to be in the top group with Flagg and Harper.

Elite athlete at guard with explosiveness to get into the paint and make plays. Freaky level of defensive impact as a freshman--3.2 stocks per game and leads his team in defensive impact metrics as a freshman guard. Doing nothing but getting better as the season goes on and answering the questions about his 3 ball in the process.

Cherry on top is he was born in Bimini (basically neighbor to Miami)

LaBaron Philon seems to be trending as less likely a top 10 pick that checks some boxes for upside and the Heat's needs at guard. 3 ball is issue it seems. He's shooting 43% on non-rim 2s. I wonder if being on a quality Bama squad with Mark Sears as lead guard is limiting what he can showcase with more usage.

Miami is due for that 2008 Chicago lottery luck (which came at Miami's expense)

I like VJs defensive inclinations. Especially when you consider hes another T Rex. I think hes got a neutral height to wingspan ratio.

Shocking if that's the case. 18 year old PGs that average over a dunk per game and nearly a block per game are not typically T-Rex's. If he actually does have a wingspan less than 6'5 he damn sure makes up for it with his explosiveness.

Through 18 games, he's 5 dunks shy of the 27 dunks Anthony Edwards had as a freshman at UGA in 32 games. If he gets to 30 dunks, he'll be one of 7 players on record since 2008 to be 6'5 or smaller and hit that threshold as a Freshman. He's on pace for 39 dunks.

I kinda hope he does have a sub 6'6 wingspan--so that some teams will take issue with it.

Hes a superb athlete who also plays hard. Makes up for a lot of deficiencies. Needs to refine his game a lot, but the foundation is solid.

He feels like DRose without the facilitator instincts.

Damn tell me more about the deficiencies. Just seems a little raw to me. But, he is 18. Def agree that he's not as far along as a facilitator as college Rose.

Defensively seems another level entirely from Rose as a prospect. But, I've only watched highlights and checked numbers.

Hes actually going to be 20.

His handle is his biggest issue. Need to refine that a lot to open up his offensive game.
