Too many turnovers and penalties. Not our year for the Superbowl.

Man I really appreciate luvu for giving it his all to stop the tush push that is the most boring awful to watch play. People who don't understand football put that on luvu that's all you can do there. The fumbles are just about unforgivable. Brown, mcnicols and eckler probably should have jobs on the team next year anyway let alone after tanking Jaydens historical run.

They played as well as they could. It's just a sizable talent gap (blame Ron). However, that talent gap got us JD (as well as Greg Zeurlein). Love Wagner, but he needs to be replaced. He's a liability on the field with his lack of speed. It is really noticeable out there.

Wagner also playing with a sprained ankle-he didn't look good. Also could use new safeties to contain the run among other things.

Our magical run is over, too-many TO's, and the Eagles were just the better team, hopefully we'll use a chunk of our cap space to get help.

Quan ís fine. One of the rare good picks from Ron. He'll continue to improve. I'd resign Chinn too. You can't fix everything and he's fine as a SS. DL and a faster LB to pair with Luvu are musts.

Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
It was a great season. I don't want to go on record blaming Lattimore for this loss. There really was one key issue. Philadelphia was a much better team.
Their O-line stretched open the A-B gap time and again. Shipley wasn't touched. When Washington collapsed on Saquon Barkley, he showed the difference in himself and Brian Robinson by bouncing laterally and then accelerating down field. Barkley blocked well, too.
I hope Robinson is not in a Commanders uniform next season. I'm not fond of Lattimore, either.
Regardless, this was a magical season.

Fine although they were exposed a bit by Saquon.

Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
If McNichols doesn't fumble, they have a chance to tie the game going into the break and that would have made for a very different second half. But they kept turning it over and the score got away from them. Tough to see our run ended by bit players who weren't up to the moment, but they'll be able to upgrade the talent in the offseason. All in all, this season was both unexpected and lots of fun. The future is bright! #HTTC

Didn't know anything about Luvu at the beginning of the season but became impressed by him
as time passed. Vs Eagle trying to time the snap worked spectacularly well once so he kept
doing it. I wish the Bills had learned the lesson that KC was ready for Josh Allen to slide
left before going forward and tried something different. They (BUF) learned the wrong lesson
from their success over the season.
I was rooting WSH and BUF yesterday but the TOs killed both teams. That said,
the outcomes were not surprising at all. BUF v WSH would have been a fun Super Bowl.
I used to like KC when they first got Reid (who I do respect) but have grown tired
of them and hope PHL beats them. I respect their consistent excellence.
And I don't have the reflexive hatred of PHL that many WSH fans have.
Go Eagles.

Yeah there are tons of places to up grade. We need to add some OL depth maybe another starting tackle. CB is a huge need cuz Latimore ain't it. Take that L. We need to draft a RB period. Well have be pretty late in the 20s and we'll have our pick of backs if we wanna go that way or be able to take a pretty solid tackle or another guard or CB.LyricalRico wrote:If McNichols doesn't fumble, they have a chance to tie the game going into the break and that would have made for a very different second half. I think going after T Higgins wouldn't be out of the question. Or a small trade for Pickens but other than that I wouldn't do over board on over paying WR cuz those are the only terry caliber guys that might be worth paying and available.
So
WR to look at
Rondelle and Elijah Moore, tutu atwell josh palmer, tee Higgins.
RB
Javante Williams maybe but I'd draft someone
OL
here are tons of OL men under the age of 27 coming up in free agency particularly from the bills, KC, Eagles, and lions. I would also draft one.
We need to draft a CB probably an Edge too but there are some decent under 27 options at edge in free agency.
Some younger CB options but a lot of them have injury issues.
I think we should trade back and get some extra picks and then target OL, CB,RB.

Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
3 turnovers in our own side of the field, as well as a turnover on downs. Crazy thing is we were moving the ball well, but we kept giving them a short field with the turnovers. I'm so interested to see what management is going to do here. With all the cap space, with JD being on his rookie contract, they can do anything. Truthfully, they need to beef up the line on both sides of the ball. We were just gashed on the ground, all year really. You get more pressure inside that makes the CBs job easier.

Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
i'm disappointed that we lost the game and the fumbles definitely played a huge part but also we gave up 118 yds and 3 TDs to Saquon on only 15 carries - his second lowest number of carries on the year. And the Eagles hung 55 pts on us, their highest scoring outing this year by 14 pts.
we started slow, and we finished poorly. we went into halftime doing well, and we came out swinging in the second half but just ran out of gas. the fumbles are momentum killers, and they capitalized off every turnover.
Outside of the fumbles, I think we played pretty well, given the players we had. Jason Kelce made a point last week leading up to the game, saying that there's 2, maybe 3 players that play minutes for the Commies that are better than their Eagles counterpart, and I think that's pretty much true.
I like Dyami Brown, and I'm impressed at his development this season. I think he can grow to be a good #2 to Terry, and instead of looking for a Tee Higgins or other replacement 2, we can focus on getting a slot receiver, and we absolutely need a TE to replace Ertz.

Their (PHL) O was really good. Yes, we gave them short fields but we also (almost?) never stopped
them the whole game. Barkley was fantastic, as he has been all season. PHL's WRs were also very good,
Lattimore wasn't what they probably were hoping for.

They have four years with JD5 being a bargain so they shouldn't be reckless with FA, but they also need to take advantage of this opportunity.
