Must be like my first ankle sprain. That was a bitch. I had to drive a manual transmission car to urgent care with that one. White knuckles!

Sucks for Kuminga and I want him back, but should mean a lot more time for Santos. Problem is he's out past the trade deadline so you can't even showcase him anymore, a shame since he was playing pretty well before he went out.

I really think they are going to end up doing nothing at the deadline, writing this year off, and maybe moving a bunch of contracts to duck under the luxury tax if possible.

Geez, that happened over three weeks ago. Steph's porcelain china ankles heal faster than that.

Nah, I don't buy it. Kuminga is good to go but behind closed doors, the tank has already been accepted, embraced and set in motion.

I had ankles problems too. The first injuries were very painful and with long time healing. Later 3/5 days after injury and you are good to play again.

This was a really bad sprain but the "report" is a nothing burger coming from the +/- podcast where slater was speculating that it would be after/around the all-star break. It makes sense to not rush JK back before and take that week off to practice/ease him back. That's not what slater said and it's not like there was a re-evaluation or some kind of set back during rehab. Just a throw away comment on a pod (not blaming Slater) that was aggregated by someone with a deadline and an article quota.

That's the problem :( Wiggins plays better without Kuminga on the court and visa versa. So adding him back doesn't guarantee a major improvement.

I can't help be a little suspicious about Kuminga being out six weeks for a sprained ankle. I wonder if someone's agreed to a deal for the young guy?

Not that unusual. Last season Desmond Bane was out over 2 months with a sprained ankle.

If it's a high ankle sprain that's not unusual.

You hold out Butler for a trade, not JK. JK is a piece that you are looking at being an important piece in future years, not this year.

He's out for a very simple reason. He has a serious ankle sprain.

In the AFL down here, if a player suffers ankle syndesmosis he usually misses 4-6 weeks. Sometimes longer.
The timeline checks out to me.

Wasn't Monta's moped thing just a high ankle sprain as well? He was out for a year or so IIRC.

The good news is when kuminga comes back it'll be like we traded for a good player without giving anything up. I should work in PR.

Don't know where to put this so I'll put it here:

This is actually a great video on how within the month of December how JK's game changed. Just his shot diet changed and how much he was dribbling to get his shots in the first half of the video. I think his shot diet started to change in the Dallas game and into the Pacers game is when you'll see he wasn't dribbling as much for his shots unless it was a clear mismatch or transition to get layups. I want to say it's because we started giving Wiggins the no 2 option which got JK off the ball more, so with Jimmy taking the bulk of the dribbling and decision making JK should integrate back into the lineup fine if he can get back to where he was. If JK comes back and is able to get back to where he was in the last 5 games. We are going to be a bully in the paint with JK and JB.

As long as they are not in the paint at the same time. Kerr is going to have to go to another level with his scheming because he will have no choice now. He could sit Wiggins OR Kuminga, but when JK comes back he's really going to have play JK and JB a sizable amount of minutes together.

Yea they'll need to work on when to cut into the lane or post up. Kerr is going to have to preach on patience on when to cut, but feel like that's more on JK. We'll see what it looks like but definitely excited to see it.

Highlight videos show only makes.
Better show us his missed shot video and how the shot profile changed.
