My dad grew up a Raiders fan. So, it's pretty surreal. I'm rooting for him.

Yeah Pete Carroll is the man! Love that dude also

Yeah, the Hawks needed to make a change. Coaching for 14 years in one spot is a long time. The team had peaked with Carroll.

But he'll turn that team around.

Carroll had one run of success in the NFL.

He couldn't sustain or rebuild it with Seattle.

People should be a little skeptical.

People should be a little skeptical.

They won't be competing for Super Bowls. But there aren't many who are better at changing a culture of a team. He raises the floor wherever he ends up.

He built a great roster in Seattle because he had connections to players coming out of college his first few years in the league. He recruited guys like Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, Bobby Wagner, Marshawn, etc. while he was at USC. But that gradually changed over time.

The league also caught on to his defensive scheme. That's why you saw a decline in performance.

Despite that Pete is still a very good coach. He's a master at getting guys to buy in.

Yeah, the Seahawks didn't really improve after they moved on from Carroll, which indicates he wasn't the problem there.

Yeah, the Seahawks didn't really improve after they moved on from Carroll, which indicates he wasn't the problem there.

Carroll was 72 & only had a year left on his contract. So, they decided to move on & find a long-term replacement.

They also had a bottom tier defense under Carroll his last few years, that's a big reason why he was ultimately let go.

In Carroll's last year, they were 28th- defensive DVOA. They finished top 10 this year.

But the offense was more of an issue. Mainly due to a bad offensive line & a first year pass happy College OC, who was fired. They were the 30th ranked rush team this season.

He isn't related to the Coen brothers, is he? Because that's reminiscent of Barton Fink.

Ah yes...yet another Coen film I have always wanted to see yet never got around to watching(that and Blood Simple).
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

He pretty much is the warning sign, that buyer should beware, when hiring a good guy, just because he's a good coordinator. Some of these guys don't even know how to use time outs

Are you referring to Schottenheimer or Eberflus?

I’m guessing he means Eberflus for not taking the TO against the lions. He won’t be responsible for that in Dallas.
