No, no, no, they still have a lot to prove, is what I keep hearing, when I hear anything about them at all. For example they still haven’t beaten two top placed teams in different time zones on the same day, that’s the kind of thing that the Rockets have to do to earn some respect. You know, the usual thing.

A deep, well-coached team fueled by effort, defense, and rebounding. I could see Houston going on a 2013 Memphis type of run in the postseason. A subpar half-court and first-chance offense will be its undoing.

They will take their lumps in the playoffs. I remember OKC stans last year thinking their lack of playoff experience wouldn't matter, and then they got bounced in round 2.

Dude we're just over the moon to make the playoffs, it's been 5 years.

Play-in was expected

Top 6 in the West this year was a lofty goal

We're currently 2nd in the West 3rd overall for the league.

Good. Glad to see you guys aren't cocky like the OKC fans.

Houston/OKC/Memphis these teams are going to make the playoffs so much fun. All young and loaded with talent. Can't wait to see them battle it out.

Sounds like a great recipe…

for the regular season.

I like their long term outlook, don’t get me wrong. But  at anyone getting hyped about regular season results.

Try us in the subpar halfcourt with our elite scorer/passer in the paint Sengun. If you think that's how you're beating us, you forgot how we built this thing.

As far as experience, we have more playoff experience at backup PF than the entire OKC roster had last season. We have Udoka (champion), FVV (champion), Jeff Green (Champion), Brooks and Adams with deep playoff runs. It's not a comparable situation, Thunder had almost no playoff experience and thought it wouldn't matter. We built it correctly from the start.

So let me get this straight, you think your team is better built for the playoffs than last year's OKC squad. That means your expectation for the Rockets this season is WCF minimum, right?

I mean, you gotta advance one more round than OKC did last season if you think Rockets have approached the situation in a better way.

We are so much farther ahead of schedule than I ever could have imagined, and have so much upside, it feels really good right now.
- Amen Thompson looks like an emerging superstar.
- Green has been looking awesome for the last month.
- All of our current core guys are still so young and can take additional leaps.
- We have Cam, Jabari and Reed waiting in the wings.
- We have the a great stash of future draft picks.

Sincerely hope a star player demands out this offseason, at a position of need.

The Rockets are young, deep, and athletic and have a bright future but IMO don't yet have a reliable offensive centerpiece star that can draw double teams, get buckets, and win games(playoff-style intensity ones) in crunch time.

Green/Sengun/Thompson might have a chance to be that guy at some point, but they aren't there yet. They also probably have the assets for a consolidation star trade if those dudes don't reach that level.

I'm predicting a 1st or 2nd round exit in the postseason, but Houston fans should actually feel pretty good about that. They are definitely a team on the rise.

Amen Thompson is special franchise changing talent. Supreme athleticism, strength, versatility, vision, toughness…i can go on. Rockets fans will be celebrating the chip real soon within the next 3 years for sure.

Sengun, amen, and green have zero playoff experience, with the oldest of them currently 22 yrs old. Okc had 3 starters with zero playoff experience as well. Hou does have experienced guys which helped the rebuild immensely but is it enough this postseason to offset multiple big minute starters who are 3 of your top 4 offensive options not having any at all?

But looking at their conference, I wouldnt be surprised if they made wcf.

If Şengün is not an All-Star, there's something seriously flawed with the voting process.
