Mac McClung Commits To Slam Dunk Contest

Mac McClung has committed to the Slam Dunk Contest, joining Stephon Castle, Matas Buzelis and Andre Jackson Jr. McClung has won each of the past two competitions in 2023 and 2024.

McClung has appeared in just one game this season with the Orlando Magic. McClung has played in a total of five NBA games across three seasons. In 10 G League games this season, McClung is averaging 24.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 33.6 minutes.

I really wish there was some increased incentive for more prominent players to participate. It's been fringe rotation players (or in McClung's case, semi-pros) competing for over a decade now. Should they shutter the dunk contest for a few years and see if there's interest in bringing it back down the road?
