1/29 DEN
2/1 LAL
2/3 HOU
2/4@TOR
2/8 BOS
2/11 @IND
2/12 ATL

That's the run up to the ASB. ALL playoff/play-in teams except TOR. B2Bs. Huge test. I want to continue streaking!!!

Rewatching. Hearing Clyde say Jar Morant over and over again is great.

For sure, bench guys do better when they know what to expect

Feels like the D isn't giving up threes as easily these past two games. I'd love to see a video breakdown on what's different

Not that single game plus/minus means a lot but Mikal being plus 43 in one game is absolutely insane.

This what we been asking for the whole season

Also a chance for a proper second unit to develop and present a change of pace for the opposition to deal with.
I dunno.

I think the bench is middling, but a middle of the pack bench should enable Thibs to rest the starters like wound up happening the last few games.

Mainly the bench has some height issues, but it's what it is.

Payne
Deuce
Precious
Shamet is a solid enough 4 man bench.

Thibs is never going 10 deep, so if/when Mitch comes back, maybe there's a world where Shamet sits, Towns & Hart minutes drop a little, and Mitch gets his 18-20 that way.

And Mitch's first 5 games back, he's probably not exceeding 10 mpg, then ramping up to 15, then to 18-20

So, if the goal is to play the starters 34 mpg, that's 70 minutes split between 4 bench players.

They should probably go 18/18/14/14. Some bench player someone likes, either Mitch or Deuce or Precious or even Payne is going to wind up playing 12-14 mpg. Just so the minutes watchers aren't upset.

9 man rotation = wins. OG and Mikal look sharp. Thibs may be slow to adjust but when he does, it gets good results.

9 man rotation on regular games, stretch it to 10 or 11 on B2Bs.

I expect a dominant post ASB by this team. This is the best starting 5 in the league and I'll throw every dollar i have on them in the 4th with fresh legs

Perspective time.

Let us consider this: Between longer rest time in between games and better Thibs minutes distribution the Knicks have scored 286 points in 2 games vs 2 above .500 teams. 286.

Their defense also has looked quite a bit better and rather than have at least 3 of the 5 starters on the floor at all times there have been many stretches with just 1 or 2 starters on the floor.

Fresher legs usually means a better 3 ball. Guess what? we have seen that too!

With no back to backs for a bit and then a couple nights rest before the Laker game, I like our chances in the next couple games too.

We are one game back from the Celts who just lost to Houston last night.

Cavs had just lost 3 in a row.

If you look at the cumulative records of ALL NBA Teams in the last 35 games (which takes out our totally brand new team in only their 1st stage of acclimating to each other) our record is better or right there with EVERY single team including the Thunder.

And this is all still without the staple elite rim protecting 5 getting major minutes in a Thibodeau rotation.

The outlook is very bright folks IF of course Tom keeps a more judicious substitution pattern like he did last couple games and especially last night.

Hate to beat a dead horse but Mikals minutes last 4 games:

27
34
35
34

He was playing close to if not more than 40 minutes previous to January 20th. It doesn't take a genius to realize the correlation between Mikals production and MPG.

Just like deeming the team a 1st round exit or 2nd round exit a week ago, it’s the same extreme as saying after last night they can win the chip. As amazing as the knicks have played the last two games just like when they were struggling a week ago, it’s unfair to judge any team based on how they are playing in December or January. The basketball season is a marathon not a sprint, as I’ve said from the get go, be healthy, playing your best ball in april/may. You can’t judge each individual win or loss in the regular season to determine what may or may not happen come playoff time

I'm sure some people will explain why it wasn't.

You're being too positive about this team and it is beginning to worry me.
