The Toronto Raptors humbled the inferior Charlotte Hornets for a 112-98 road victory at the Spectrum Center. It was a game in which they led by as many as 23 points.

Michael Porter Jr., Derrick White, and Jrue Holiday carried the lion’s share of the offense, combining to shoot 11-15 from three.

Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert anchored the defense — as usual, controlling the boards and protecting the paint.

The Raptors were missing three key players, in Amen Thompson, Collin Sexton, and the recently acquired Bol Bol — who’d been making an immediate impact on both sides of the ball. But being bitten by the injury-bug apparently didn’t matter, as the Hornets just don’t have enough sting to hang with the Raptors this season.

The Raptors defense held their 8th straight opponent (10 out of their last 11) below the 100 point mark.

Toronto’s record improves to 36-10, extending their Atlantic Division lead, while maintaining 2nd place in the Eastern Conference. Winners of 8 straight overall (12 out of their last 13).

Imagine some of us have been at this since BaT 1.0.... I came across another email from the year 2010 with former BaF vets lj4pointplay and another GM (gallosourfuture) where negotiations surrounded the following players: Hedo Turkoglu, Elton Brand, Andersom Varejao, Drew Gooden, Sasha Vujacic, Chris Duhon, and Antonio Mcdyess. LOL. Those were good times and different times. I'm glad the game evolved into what it is now. Been here from the beginning and outside of wanting to see more teams compete, it's the best it's ever been in all my years of BaT and BaF combined.

^Those are some fun nuggets NE. It's amazing how fast some of these careers boom and bust. The guys we were excited for in yesteryear... already out of the league. Or going from promising prospects, to fulfilling that promise, to having setbacks. I remember having Jerian Grant for a spell and being excited about that, for example. Jon Isaac was another who looked to be an absolute breakout candidate and then... just broke. Still solid. Just limited.

And then there's LeBron.
