It was very clever of the Dump Administration to schedule hearings for their 3 most controversial nominees at the end of this week, One of: Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr. may be rejected, but with a loaded guns to their heads, it will be impossible to reject more than one of them with them grouped like this.

it's just a depressing look at how desperate and lonely many of these people are, and how much the toxic parasocial relationship between MAGA and Trump exacerbated by social media really drives right wing engagement. it is completely divorced from politics, nationalism, civic duty, or even reason. it's a manufactured personal vendetta that allows of millions of people to feel special when they're not special.

That's the addictive quality of social media.

BTW and FWIW, I would describe myself as unique but not necessarily special.

or as that facetious meme goes, Just remember you're special, just like everyone else.

special is not the right word - it makes them feel important, smart, and in control. that they're right, the other side is wrong, and they can feel superior.

Not all that much different from sports fandom. They get to feel vicarious thrill at others’ success though they themselves be powerless. Like LeBron fans.

Difference is LeBj isn’t spreading cancer.

Remember, kids, racism is irrational and acting on your racism makes you yourself worse off. That is why we call Trump voters stupid, because falling for billionaires' calls to blame other poor people for your problems, instead of them, the real problem, is stupid.

Deporting well established immigrants will not magically make you qualified for their job. The country just loses their human capital, making everyone worse off.

This policy is a gift to Colombia, who will suddenly have an influx of wealthy, talented Americans who have no choice but to live in Colombia. It is a transfer of wealth from the United States to Colombia.

Book by Heather McGee talks at great length about this...The Sum of Us. Great book.

all the municipalities in the south and elsewhere too that destroyed their great town swimming
pools rather than share them with Black people. Incredibly effing stupid.

""We're trying to make sure that all students, wherever they might be on the political spectrum, feel that they can comfortably talk about their opinions and not feel like they have to self-censor," he said. "That is increased speech.""

FOR THE LOVE OF PETE

If you have to adjust the way you talk in order to be more persuasive, THAT IS NOT CENSORSHIP BY THE GOVERNMENT. Telling people to shut up because they are stupid/racist is ALSO FREE SPEECH. THAT IS THE WAY IT WORKS. THIS BILL IS CENSORSHIP - picking on certain viewpoints that you MUST LISTEN TO is censorship of the alternative viewpoint. It is censorship of DEI. Obviously so.

"The bill aims to ban all diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs at state universities."

I mean COME ON

It is a LAW imposed by OHIO LAWMAKERS censoring certain viewpoints. It could not more obviously be censorship

How dumb do Republicans think we are?

Wealthy people should emigrate if they're not down with the MAGA cult.

Black people like me who've assimilated to a white culture should learn their true history. Visit the African American Heritage Musuem. Read about Africans who arrived in Mexico pre Columbus and Europeans. Stop trying to appease and please the fascists wave of Trump idolatry supporters.

I look more like Joe Frazier than Muhammed Ali. I would hope, unlike them, that I assemble with blacks, not like Clarence Thomas and the Trump minion blacks.

I'm always going to be Ken. I went to Friendly HS, which was about 65% white and 35% black in the 70s. We were very integrated and pretty much all middle-class kids. I'm going to love everyone.

Bishop Budd gave a great sermon.

However, these next four years and beyond will be times of tribulation. I'm gonna be that N-word. Polite. Kind. Courteous. But honest in the face of xenophobic misanthropes who have their Hitler in office, plus the House and the Senate, plus the Supreme Court.

Now is a great time for flight or to entrench.

i assume there's a fair share of fed workers on this board, and yall are going through it right now. i can't imagine being put into that situation. from what i've heard from friends, you all got a mass email about voluntary resignation? the accompanying memo's metadata shows that it was directly from project 2025?

it's insanity.

i've heard some people say "lol, good luck to the MAGA cultists who replace these workers, they'll find out how hard it is to govern."

no they won't, you idiots. their incompetence is the point. the administrative state has one task - enforce regulations. if the project 2025 replacements are incompetent, that means there is no enforcement. it'll be capitalistic lawlessness, which, again, is the point.

I’m starting to seriously think my wife and I should have gotten a passport.

To the PA lady in closgoo’s post, you probably are not rich enough
to get away with Nazi salutes.

Ken, please keep on being true to yourself.

Sounds like Elon wrote the email. It was the exact same email twitter employees received when he took over and fired 80% of them.

I can get an Iranian passport but I'm pretty sure that would do more harm than good for the next 4 years.
