Banchero was 1-8 when defended by Bam last night, too easy. Bam at PF will be locking up opposing teams stars

Spoiler:
The maximum contract the Mavericks can give Luka is technically known as the designated veteran extension or designated veteran contract, but mostly referred to colloquially as “the supermax.” A player with 7-9 years of service can get the 35% max instead of the 30% max if they qualify, according to certain criteria, hence the “super” part of the “max.” However, even if they met the criteria, they can only sign for the 35% if they are signing with the team they signed the rookie max extension with. The one exception is if they are traded after signing the rookie extension but before it kicks in. Which has never happened.

So Luka will face the question in July 2025. Does he sign for the 35% designated extension with the Mavericks? Or does he wait till 2026 to opt out of his player option and become a free agent where the most he can sign for is 30%, and there is an additional financial advantage in the contract he can sign with the Mavericks: He’d get 8% raises versus only 5% raises with other teams.

It should also be noted that Texas also has no state income tax.

Interesting to note in crunch time and both OTs 3 of the guys on court (Bam, Herro, Ware) are under contract for 2026 and the 4th (Jovic) is a resticted free agent.

Jovic's contract will be interesting. I think Heat may try to lock him up early even if it cuts in to 2026 cap space. He appears to have good chemistry with Bam, Ware, and Herro.

The way you handle Jovic is to sign him after you have gone whale chasing, his cap hold is not going to prevent us from signing a max player while still maintaining the rights to match salary.

You're really taking that neanderthal's side? In what universe is that an acceptable thing to say to someone? There is zero chance in hell that pussy would say that to Beal's face. Shame on you.

Edit: Read the NBA's Fan Conduct Advisory. Arenas can and absolutely should boot you from a game for using obscene language.

https://www.nba.com/hornets/fan-conduct-advisory

"During NBA games in all NBA arenas, every fan is required to comply with the NBA's Fan Code of Conduct. This is particularly important for fans (like you) with seats in close proximity to the playing court.

Fans who act inappropriately will not be tolerated and may be subject to ejection from the arena and/or revocation of their tickets. Examples of inappropriate behavior include, but are not limited to: using abusive or offensive language or gestures directed at any player, coach referee , fan, or other person involved in our game; "

Yeah I am taking his side. Fan did not do anything we aren’t doing in this sub now.

You suck.
Trade your ass.

Wow. Kicked out for that? Better be silent during free throws. Don’t want to hurt wealthy player’s family’s feelings. Only show appreciation and never displeasure and continue to fork over cash for the privilege to do so.

The fan wasn’t saying racist bigoted things or anything that warrant being kicked out imo.

I'm sorry but this attitude is what's wrong with america. Money does not entitle you to break the social contract and hurl abuse just because you're in a crowd. That's mob mentality. If some dude started screaming "bum ass b*itch" around kids, let alone my own, you bet your ass I'd have a problem with it too.

Are you on this eagles fan side too? He paid good money for his ticket, I guess that gives him free reign to call a woman a dumb ugly c*nt too huh.

Do whatever to make "Mempis" happen. They have what we need by way of expirings, moveable deals, young players, picks, to put together an attractive package one way or the other, and we send Jimmy west. Get ready to learn dry BBQ buddy

Last night was a great win with players Miami is invested in playing well and playing well together. I think it's a pretty exciting time to be following this team.

As we all know, Miami's roster is not well constructed overall right now--especially with our 1A $50M superstar out of commission with no replacement for that salary allotment.

That's what's important about the Jimmy trade and the forthcoming salary allocation reset. The goal is by next season to have anywhere from $70M-$100M in allotted salary cap (Jimmy, Terry, Duncan, Jaime, etc) repurposed to maximize the style of play and personnel that complements the core pieces including Herro, Bam, Ware, Jovic.

I believe that is an excellent foundation to build on. I've been proclaiming Miami working towards having the best frontcourt rotation in the NBA since Ware was drafted. I think Ware's early returns only give that vision more juice to pursue. You ain't winning without advantage in the frontcourt in the NBA. That's always been true, even in today's spacing game. It just changes the dynamics of how advantage is gained.

This is a developmental season and the experiments Miami is shifting to won't always be as fun or fruitful as last night. It's still a make or miss league and when the 3s don't fall it can all start looking dire. But, the reality is that it isn't dire, it's just development with a handicapped roster.

Here's to Miami continuing to collect moments that validate and push the vision of the future forward.

We saw it in the San Antonio win where Bam and Ware ran together for the first time and the results were great. Miami hasn't looked back since then.

We saw it last night with Miami going jumbo adding Jovic at SF along with Bam and Ware on the floor. That was damn dynamic because Jovic provided skillset that our roster needs to feed our bigs through playmaking.

I believe these are moments that we can look back on from this season and identify them as foundational points that the next few seasons of Heat basketball will build off of.

Let's get Jimmy traded in a manner that allows Miami to re-orient the books to serve our current and future roster as soon as this offseason. Let's get a 2027 FRP back in the trade for Jimmy to unlock maximum flexibility in trading our draft picks.

If this developmental season proves good enough to get Miami into the playoffs, that's great. Let's get this young group some good experience in playoff ball and finally convey the FRP owed to OKC and get out of that limbo. If this developmental season results in Miami missing the playoffs, I see plenty of benefit to that as well. There's some nice talent in this draft and getting a lotto shot and a player into Miami's system this season rather than next season has advantage with getting them up to speed to contribute to the current core's window moving forward. In either case, let's have next year's Miami squad be better than this years.

Developmental season that maximizes optionality moving forward. I'm here for it, even when the 3s don't fall.

My short list of teams to acquire Jimmy

Pistons
Lakers
Mavs
Spurs
Grizzlies

Those teams have the right contracts and potential young pieces to make something happen

I don’t see anything on the Warriors that makes sense.

Long contracts and poor young pieces.

Why? Breaking your own contract of employment allows you still get paid allegedly in the NBA

Not sure why the NBA holds its own fans more accountable than its players

The league is run by a wet napkin in Adam Silver who does a bunch of dumb stuff like not letting me watch the Heat vs Magic game on league pass, and has no spine.

Are you seriously equating a confrontation with another fan vs heckling a player that he should be traded? Lol

You would take your kid to an event where crowds of people are sold alcohol and are expected to cheer/jeer/show emotion but want them to behave in accordance to your own personal code? Of course any one with main character syndrome will think others have to adhere to what you want when you want and not simply avoid a situation that only makes you uncomfortable. You have a choice not go.

You would think this guy was engaging in some criminal activity the way you are on about him.
