I think part of it is that the league is breaking away (somewhat) from most of revenue being tied to local TV contracts. However, the Dodgers had a sweetheart TV contract that dwarfed everybody else's and it's still going for another decade.

So they have owners that are 10x richer than Attanasio for example, 10x more money coming in from TV than Attanasio, and a market that can make money 10-fold vs. other teams if you have somebody like Ohtani on your roster.

Congrats to all three, all obviously deserving. I can't wait to read even more Ichiro stories in the run up to his induction.

Billy Wagner gets in on his 10th ballot. Carsten Charles and Ichiro are first ballot inductees.

I have to believe that the person who didn't vote for him did so knowing it would cause controversy and give that person attention/clicks. I can't understand not voting for him otherwise. Ichiro isn't just a HOF. Of the 278 players to get elected to the HOF, Ichiro is probably Top 100. If he played his entire career here, he'd probably finish in the Top 25. He would have knocked on the door of Pete Rose's career hits record.

It was a walk off to win Game 7 of the LIDOM "World Series," so if any walk off deserves that kind of treatment, it's that one.

Flaherty signs with the Tigers on a 2Y 35M deal with an opt out after 2025.

ESPN is apparently ready to tell MLB to piss off. If they want to talk about a smaller package with only a handful of select teams, that's apparently a possibility.

My thought is with friends like these...

ESPN has done absolutely nothing for almost a decade to promote the sport. They don't talk about it, don't cover it, and only broadcast a game a week on Sunday. My pie in the sky wish is Apple TV to become the new defacto home for MLB. Their tech is amazing, they put on great broadcasts. Similar to how ATV is the home for MLS, they could be the new place to go to for MLB.

Agree on ESPN. No Baseball Tonight, its literally like the same 5-6 teams showcased on Sunday Night Baseball. Cards-Cubs, Giants-Dodgers, Red Sox-Yankees. Sprinkle in Mets, Phillies, Braves, and maybe Houston. Think I asked a long time ago but when was the last time the Brewers had a Sunday Night ESPN game?

I didn’t get Apple TV this year but I did not mind their Friday Night stuff.

The only Apple games I've watched were Brewers and I liked the broadcasts. And the fact that Apple had the Brewers on and it wasn't ways the same teams is a bonus.

I love how even the Yankees are complaining about the Dodgers spending.

Manfred said he's getting emails from some fans complaining about no salary cap.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Curious if Brewers are showing any interest in Paul Dejong or Yoan Moncada. The latter seems like an intriguing buy low 1 year stop gap type signing that fits the Brewers way. If healthy has showed some hitting talent.

Moncada signed with the Angels
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"
