If Poeltl stays, Raps will go on a winning streak. He is THE winning cog (other than Scottie). Gotta trade him.

Per the Trade board, here's a 3 way suggestion with LAL and ATL:

Toronto in: Rui Hachimura, '25 1st (worse of LAL/SAC), '25 2nd (better of LAC/LAL), Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood.
Toronto out: Jakob Poeltl, Davion Mitchell

LA in: Clint Capela, Davion Mitchell
LA out: Rui Hachimura, 2025 2nd (better of LAC/LAL), and filler salary (Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood)

Atlanta in: Jakob Poeltl
Atlanta out: Clint Capela, 2025 1st (worse of LAL/SAC)

LA: Per WT, Anthony Davis and Lebron are openly pushing the Front Office for a Center. LA also needs better defense at the point. With Vando coming back and an incoming C, LA is set in the front court and can trade Rui. They drop ~$30M in guaranteed salary for next season if they choose not to bring back Davion/Capela. That can make them players in the FA market.

Atlanta: They're a treadmill team with very good depth but lacking impact from some of their vets. In this trade, they will get an upgrade at C from Capela to Poeltl (2nd in the league at ORebs).

Now we have 4 picks in the draft (lets say #5, #20, #36, #46). There are several bigs available deep in this draft. We also fix the backup PF situation with Hachimura, who is a very capable player.

Quickley / Gabe / Shead
RJ / JaKobe
Gradey / Ochai
Scottie / Hachimura
Olynyk / Mogbo / Chomche

[expect Brown & Boucher to be traded]

Next year, add up to 4 draft guys, and a free agent vet with the MLE. Vision 2028 championship.

Gabe Vincent is not a filler contract, he is a bad contract with term which will cost the Lakers a 1st in this scenario. The Lakers are not dumping close to 30 million in term while upgrading without paying that cost. And the Raptors will take it.

Prob not getting a first for that. Maybe a 2nd. Realistically probably not at all sine Conley > Davion, and if they're gonna dump salary it likely would be through NAW for draft capital or something.

Do you think they would flip NAW for Davion as NAW is an UFA while Davion is a RFA and might re-sign for less than $5 million per year?

Lakers picked up DFS, so maybe they are cool with trading Vanderbilt who hasn't played all year but is medically cleared?

Davion, Ochai for Vanederbilt, JHS (waive) and future 1st pick.

Oh, they want a C so they can move AD to PF.

Olynyk and Davion for Hachimura, JHS (waive) and future 2nd pick (or 1st pick?)

Raptors should try to get Kuminga. Need someone to pair Barnes with as his co-star.

2 things:

1. Timberwolves can't trade their 2026 pick due to the Stepien Rule. The Wolves can trade the 2025 Pistons 1st but since the SR requires a team to be in possession of an unprotected 1st from another team and the Pistons 1st is Top 13 protected, they're not able to move the 2026 pick.

2. Mike Conley is apparently quite well-liked by the Wolves and Ant. If they're doing a salary dump with that 1st rounder, it would be for Julius Randle.

The 2nd apron is at $190 million and right now they are around $205 million. Really only Randle makes sense.

Randle to Detroit? Isaiah Stewart and Bobi Klintman for Randle?

The Suns feel like a pretty logical trade partner for us.

They are forced to go for it with KD being where he is at in his career and no matter what happens with Butler, they can't afford to have Nurkic making 18m and not playing. They could use Jak of course and that trade works straight up for Nurkic but some combination of Boucher/Olynyk + Mitchell also works and adds useful players to their roster. Nurkic can't be combined with other players in a trade so it makes it pretty difficult to trade him while upgrading at the same time because of how bad his contract is. We can afford to take it on because we aren't contending anytime soon and they have 3 FRP's (for now) to incentivize us.

This isn't nba 2k where GMs make trades like this. Idk if Memphis would dump Smart for this. I have a feeling a team like LA would offer more or another team looking at Smarts defense and playoff experience. Also what is this fan basis obsession with JHS? He's not good if he was LA would have picked up his option he's now a UFA at the end of the year. That Toronto team you made is bad like really bad plus they are going to be awful next year with no direction

That's awful for Toronto. JHS is an expiring deal and Mitchell is a rfa also a better player. Gabe is straight up trash a waste of a roster spot and salary which will take draft capital to move. That leaves Poeltl for Rui and what looks to be a mid 20's pick. Not ideal for Toronto. Toronto should be getting worse of the seconds and better of the firsts

This seems as good a place to ask:

Does anyone have or know where to find stats for when Bruce brown and Scottie are on the court together?

Small sample size, but my eyes think they see this duo dominating in both sides of the ball when together

Far from domination, but quite good on d.
Of the Raptors 2-man lineups which played more than 170 minutes together (Scottie & Brown played 174), they’re second in DRtg, but one of the worst in ORtg.
