Rockets and Spurs are both strong possibilities. He played high school ball in Houston, FWIW.

Marc Spears was the first one to float the idea that Derozan to Sac could happen and Barling shut it down that same day saying he didn't expect it to go anywhere. Four days later he started speculating Derozan could come to Sac and then paraded around like he was the first one on top of the move.

I think you both are right.
A lot of our local "insider" guys don't have legit sources within the Kings FO. But out of all the guys, DLo is probably the only local guy have legit sources.

Re: Kings close to trading Fox?
Houston and San Antonio each have like 13 first round picks between now and 2030. If the draft were held today, the Spurs would have the 10th and 11th picks. Houston would have the 18th pick, so if you're going by immediate picks, Spurs are in the better spot. Houston has the better prospects though. FVV would probably head to the Kings, so it's just a question of whether the Kings can get 1 or 2 of Whitmore/Sheppard/Eason.

Rockets and Sprs have the assets and motivation to get a player like Fox. Both are rising teams with a ton of assets. I like him more in San Antonio, i would wait to see what the rockets have with Amen before picking a player like Fox.

Re: Kings close to trading Fox?
This sounds like a trade demand was made... or if not a full demand, his reps have made it clear they doesn't plan to resign with the Kings. Good for Sacramento for being proactive here and not "hoping for the best" like so many teams do with their stars.
Will be shocked if he's not in San Antonio at the end of this.

Really? What is your perceived value of Fox? I could be totally wrong and I’m okay being wrong, but Shams basically alluded that he has a specific destination in mind he wants to sign with AKA if you trade me anywhere else I will be leaving during free agency which again is in one season.
I don’t think he has the value you think he has.

Amen would still be starting at a forward spot if the Rockets decide to bring in Fox. Either VanVleet or Jalen Green would be part of the trade.
As a Rockets’ fan, I do agree the Spurs have more motivation to deal because they need a Wemby complement. But, that also has me hoping Stone gets involved. I don’t want Fox joining Wemby in San Antonio.

I think a likely deal from the Rockets would need to involve either FVV or Jalen Green to match salary and Jabari Smith Jr along with first-round picks.
