De'Aaron Fox Believed To Prefer Spurs; Rich Paul Will Be Open To Other Teams

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jan 28, 2025 10:01 pm

The San Antonio Spurs are believed to be the preferred destination for De'Aaron Fox, who recently signaled to the Sacramento Kings he has no plans to sign an extension in the offseason. Fox's agent, Rich Paul, recently informed the Kings that it would be wise to trade him now even if it isn't to a team considered his likely destination of choice.

Paul is expected to listen to all calls from interested teams and will remain open about where Fox will end up.

The Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers are teams that have had reported interest in acquiring Fox.

Fox can become a free agent during the 2026 offseason if he doesn't sign an extension.

I like Fox, but I don't see how a team becomes a contender while Fox is eating 30% of your salary cap.

Yeah man, my sentiments exactly. He hasn't been able to elevate them to this point, and don't see how it's gonna happen while he's making almost double the money. His extension will seriously handcuff the team financially, imo.

Having a guy like Wemby on a rookie contract seems like a good start imo
