Raptors Emerge With Interest In Brandon Ingram

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jan 28, 2025 7:26 pm

The Toronto Raptors have emerged with interest in Brandon Ingram, reports Marc Stein. Ingram was on the block during the offseason as he approaches his free agency, but the New Orleans Pelicans haven't found a deal to their liking.

Ingram and the Pelicans have discussed an extension, but were apart on terms. Ingram is in the final season of his contract, which pays $36 million.

There is a belief that Masai Ujiri is motivated to return the Raptors to a competitive station in the NBA. The Raptors have been involved in a number of different conversations as the deadline approaches.

Ugh…long term I’d much rather have RJ at his age and price. In the short term it might make the raps win more….The raps don’t even know how to tank properly.

I think both teams should be skeptical.

Teh Raps have to see what happens at the draft before trading for a guy like INgram.

Haha honestly. If we're flipping rj to overpay a forward we should have kept og.

You seriously think Silver would land the Raptors Wemby or Flagg?
Wemby is destine to Spurs, while Flagg would be drafted by a team in the State.

Quickley and Agbaji work for Ingram, but salary for the Pals would be a problem next year.
If they are interested in Poeltl, that might include McCollum? That seems to put them below the tax for next year.
Poeltl and Mitchell and Boucher for Ingram would put the Raps above the tax next season.

Flagg is coming to MAGA land for sure.

Toronto would love BI, he’s Kawhi-lite. All he needs is a home, fanbase and organization that believes in him.

I don't get how BI is gonna fit with Barnes and RJ. And as others have mentioned, the Raptors should stay the course and tank this season and hopefully get a blue chip prospect.

It'll be interesting to see what his next contract looks like. All-nba upside who's never played more than 65 games. 3 x $35 mill?

Looking at the current standings, and having a stronger than skeptical belief that the draft lottery is compromised; there is a zero percent chance that Flagg goes to Washington.

Do you think Silver and Co. wants a potential generational talent playing in a Wizards uniform? Doubtful. The same goes for Charlotte, Utah, NOLA, and Portland. I'd hedge my bets and say he miraculously ends up in Brooklyn.
