Focus on dumping this Jim-ME head case to some other foolish team and get some serviceable players, including another big so we can keep playing with the starting combo of Ware-BAM-Jovic and have a good backup to spell them as needed.

Spurs have 4 2025 1st rd picks alone in a loaded draft class

Honestly starting to think the 2025 draft class is getting a little overrated after diving in. 2-4 nice pieces on the top. Maybe I'll continue to change my mind as I get more familiar and more ball is played.

Either way, there is no question asked if Miami is in a straight bidding war with San Antonio and both parties are motivated buyers, then there is no competition whatsoever.

Spurs have 4 2025 1st rd picks alone in a loaded draft class

I lost all hope after checking out in fansapo how much assets they had. They have 7 1st rounders + a swap from other teams that they can offer without touching their own picks. And in total they 17 1st rounders & swaps. That doesn't include 2nd rounders. Like how do the Heat compete with that. Spurs are setup to move a 2nd big trade after making the Fox trade. Depending on how much they give up for Fox, they can even do a 3rd big trade.

Would make it more about having expirings and optionality for the next potential star that's looking to be traded while under contract in the next couple years. Which I imagine was always the primary focus (including these Fox sweepstakes). Of course, Supermax limits that pool

Yeah the year after that, but the 2026 plan is dead. So that could lead to us doing some funny things. We can now pay Jimmy the one year he wanted because 2026 is toast, or we take Beal and assets because again 2026 is over. The excuse of 2026 no longer exist.

If paying Jimmy was ever in the cards, that ship has now sailed. That ship has sailed and circumnavigated the Earth a half dozen times. The guy was out on the court stealing money. The last thing you do is sign up for another year.

Bridges may still be burned, but if I’m not mistaken, Mav Carter had a conversation with Riley last year. I get the sense that Rich Paul and his top clients might start removing Miami from their list because we don’t always cater to every superstar’s demands.

That said, some Klutch role players, like Burks, could be sent here with no issues.
