Just a team with the smallest margins for error. No AD, their defense falls absolutely apart. Not even Vanderbilt there tonight to help. Lebron is still a top 10 offensive guy in this league and that is unprecedented and remarkable for a 40 year old. However, his defense is abysmal at this point. Lateral movement is gone and that's to be expected for a guy his age. The bench? Horrible. The Lakers are what they are. A middling team.

Without Vando, locked in AD or a true big this team is always going to be another Vando injury away from a collapse. Lebron plays 40 and Rui somehow plays 41, no intangibles. Low motor starters anchoring a cast of awful perimeter defenders.

Their effort and focus is way too variable, even at full strength. They operate like an established championship team as opposed to one that hasn't finished in the top 6 since 2020.

Thanks to piece of **** Pelinka
No good backup C, so the defense cant really without AD
Probably why I still lean towards getting a C who can defend
No Vando, Vincent, or Wood absolutely kills you when AD is out
Cant win with 5 guys out on a team with no depth

Anyone know why Wood waited all offseason to get that surgery? I'd think he's be more urgent about fighting off his possible last year in the league.
Horrible betting the whole frontcourt on him and Hayes.

All time worst smallball. Two SFs sharing minutes at the 5 with 2 G-league bigs. Why won't AD go on national tv?

Re: The LeBron James & Anthony Davis- 24-25 Thread
Im firmly of the belief now that under JJ this team has already hit it's ceiling.
I think he's a mediocre coach at best and we gambled bringing him when we needed a competent coach to instill some form of identity and discipline within this team.
As they say the prisoners are running the show under JJ. I just dont think they respect him as a coach. Nor do i think he'll be anything more than a decent coach at that.
The bringing in Bronny completely swung the momentum of the game. Coming out flat every game is a coaching issue.
We've had so many embarrassing losses under this coach that he should be questioned.

“The other day I saw one of his games. He was running with the ball at a hundred per cent full speed, I don’t know how many touches he took, maybe five or six, but the ball was glued to his foot. It’s practically impossible.”

The roster just isn't good enough. I don't think the lovechild of Spo and Phil Jackson is making this team appreciably better.

AD got hurt in the 1st Q, played 10 min
AD is our most valuabel player at this point, 1st time I can confidently say that
Defense is horrific w/o him

Was talking about the interview but also didn't know he was injured earlier. Makes the whole thing that much worse going on worst. Already was a blessing he was healthy for so long.

Dude we cant hide behind that excuse![]()
That excuse works against good teams. Not against teams that are completely depleted playing guys like Eric Gordon.
Why would I be "hiding behind" anything? I didn't put the roster together. The talent is middling, and they don't have enough guys who play with consistent energy and focus. Changing the coach isn't going to fix those issues.

Bum ass team
No size, only 1 two way player and whatever moves they do make are irrelevant because this version of AD/LeBron simply isn't good enough for a deep playoff run. LeBron looks very 40 on a lot of nights and AD's no 1st option.
I do think Redick's a notable upgrade from Ham but good lord has this team's offensive sets looked unimaginative as F for a while now. Their only plays seem to be AD at the elbow or LeBron/Reaves taking turns going iso or pick n roll. Minimal ball movement and very little off ball action.

There are no coaches anyway. But yest i 100% believe a competent coach would help this team come out with more effort.
Lack of effort is a reflection of coaching more than anything.

Eh I think this is an over reaction
Max and DFS can play both ends in their roles
We have some size with AD and Vando, but both out
Getting us a C would actually make us a legit big team
We also just played last night and were down multiple guys
Still think getting a legit C like Kessler/Turner and another ball handler helps us have a shot

It's also a reflection of your two best players being a 40-year-old who was modulating his energy in the regular season even during his late prime, and one of the most inconsistent (in terms of game-to-game energy and mindset) superstars I've ever seen. At this point in their careers, I don't know what coach is going to change that. There are a lot of other issues relating to the roster as a whole, but when you're starting from that baseline your effort and focus is probably going to be inconsistent regardless. It was an issue with Vogel by the end, with Ham, and now with Redick.

Re: The LeBron James & Anthony Davis- 24-25 Thread
4 games in 5 days for a team that isn't that deep is tough in todays league. The loss is whatever, AD's injury is concerning. They have a relatively easy stretch before the break, will be way harder without him
