Does Edgecomb ever make jumpers off the dribble? I only watched him in one game and a few highlights but i can't recall seeing it.

I do not like when people say draft is gamble, cause its not, but you never know for sure what the future will bring, and in a sense that part is gamble. Like, a lot of people were low on Sengun despite him being MVP in Turkish league at 18 years old, undersized post player in todays era? Pass. Well, he just grew too inches, improved his conditioning, now hes a beast.

This kid reminds me of Lue Dort situation. I think Dort was undrafted, and you could see why, because when he first suit up for Thunder, he really was abysmal offensive player, just an absolute 0 as shooter and everything. Well, guess what, he now shoots 40% from 3 as a spot up guy and is premier asset. Meanwhile, Stanley Johnson in Europe and he still can't hit a jumpshot, never know how these guys will develop.

Gambling = "making decisions involving uncertainty"

The only question is how much uncertainty. If there was no uncertainty virtually all decision-making would be trivial.

okay, but Okogie literally did put up those numbers but even better.

Okogie had these games as a frosh:

10-17 FGs, 14-17 FTs 14 rebs, 5 assists, 35 pts

12-20 FGs, 13-18 FTs, 5 rebs, 3 assists, 38 pts

Okogie had 6 games of 25+ points as a freshman. this is VJ's 1st game over 25 and only his second of 20+.

Listen, i'm not saying Edgecombe is Okogie, but college production probably isn't the argument you want to use if you want to argue VJ is the superior prospect.

If you look at their combined college stats, VJ has a superior college performance. And this is so far, VJ's performance has steadily improved since his first few games, so the gap is likely to increase.

Might be OT but I think Baylor has a chance to make a deep run in March. They have a ton of talent on that team and Omier is the most underrated college player. I can see them making the Final 4 if they get hot

His performance has improved as of late. Top 5 pick IMO after Flagg/Harper/Bailey.

As the guy who brought up Okogie in the first place, I should note that I had Okogie 14th on my board and I view VJ as a superior prospect who I've had top 5-10 all season. I was a big Okogie fan that year. His shooting never came around and to me that's really the only reason he hasn't hit in the NBA save for a few good moments here and there when his shot is falling. Of course that will be the case for VJ as well. He needs to become a reliable shooter to stick. If yuo think i was knocking VJ you're sorely mistaken. It was a very fair comparison imo.

You are right, i used the wrong word, I meant to say lottery, some prople act drafting is like lottery, but its not, otherwise all these scouts, gms and talent evaluators are charlatans, which they aren't. Drafting is gamble, you are gambling, but it aint lottery

like it always does with this archetype (or really any archetype in today's dumbed-down NBA) it will come down to shooting for VJ. that's why all these convos are boring now. either you believe he will be shooting at baseline in the NBA or not. how high you wanna make that bet is the only question.

Latrell without as much crazy is a nice comparison.

Still have Cooper, Harper, Ace and Kasparas above him.

He's similar to Suggs tbh, given his size adn athletic profile.
