UnRIP Fox to Miami talk.

I don't see Butler having any interest in being in Sacramento long-term, so you need a 3rd team with assets Sacramento likes. I think any trade for Fox would more likely have to involve Herro and JJJ/Jovic. Not sure what Miami could offer draft-pick-wise, but my guess is it is VERY limited.

In those conditions, how does Miami compete with the Spurs' stash of picks plus super-friendly contracts and good prospects (Vassell, Sochan, Castle) or Houston with a deal around FVV + prospects/picks?

If you think we get anywhere near fox without offering one of those then yall are delusional.

Fox is an all nba player, in his prime. He is also better at basketball than any player on our roster.

I dont think a deal gets done regardless, but yall got to stop dreaming that a 2026 expiring and very few picks gets the deal done. Fox is going to get sacramento a minimum of four first rounders with all of of them being unprotected.

In the end i think Fox stays the season, Sacramento still has him one more year, they also have his bird rights so Fox can earn the most money staying in Sacramento. Sac is probably testing the waters to see if there is some ridiculous high offer for them available right now, but if there isnt anything they got too much time and salary leverage over Fox. Especially if he hits some all nba awards between now and 2026 offseason.

I'm not ready to coronate our "Wemby lite" for a handful of good performances. In any case, the "odd man out" is likely Jovic. In any case, Randle is only on the books for one more season, which gives Jovic and Ware time to continue to develop without having to deliver playoff wins for Miami.

I know most people don't like the idea of Randle in Miami, but I think he'd be an excellent addition.

Now that Spo has started to embrace big ball, maybe he takes it to the same extreme he took small ball to

PG: Jovic
SG: Herro
SF: Randle
PF: Bam
C: Ware

Need Keshad Johnson to come off the bench and start a fight every game, and Tyler Herro just gets the mega green light from 3

This could be a recipe for success

That would be a defensive nightmare. Jovic can't check PGs, Randle can't check SFs. Miami would be playing nothing but zone

LOL we are playing the 1-3-1 all game and letting Bam just roam free

Yeah the year after that, but the 2026 plan is dead. So that could lead to us doing some funny things. We can now pay Jimmy the one year he wanted because 2026 is toast, or we take Beal and assets because again 2026 is over. The excuse of 2026 no longer exist.

huh? 2026 as Greg mentioned is about optionality, keeping the books clean for anybody that could become available whether thats via trade or free agency. Nothing changes if Fox is dealt to SA and certainly there's no reason to take on Beal, no chance Jimmy is offered an extension here. That's dead.

So our slogan for 2026 is "Optionality"?
Thats what we will try to sell to fans?
We have been deliberate about not having contracts extend into 2026, for "Optionality"
We have gone from "Family", to "Culture" to now "Optionality".
Get your 2026 Optionality Heat jersey

Im saying this jokingly as a fan, but you do realize just how bad that looks and sounds right?

Won't hit my pockets. I think it's a prudent approach.

What would your desire be?

They can't really. Would just need Fox to hint to the GM that he wants to go to Miami, and see if the Kings see value in shipping him out west compared to seeing him play in conference for the next 4-5 years.
Would dare say Ware is involved to make it work due to the lack of picks.

Trade don't even make no sense. Randle makes 33 million and the Wolves can’t aggregate contracts. Knicks reporter mentions familiar name in Randle just to grab a headline.

What realistically makes anyone think Fox will say Miami only after the Spurs already have been heavily rumored and his deep family connections from him and his wife to Texas. Fox/Paul specifically leaked the Spurs. Like what type of delusion are we under here?

batterybro42 wrote:A few weeks ago on here I said that I felt Ware had qualities that if his play ever warranted it would make him a franchise leader in Miami, now that most us have got more exposure to him, I am interested to know if anybody has started to see his intangibles similarly? I got laughed out of thread for it at the time, but I continue to believe that he has all the makings of not just a good player, but somebody who can elevate players around him, and a guy other players/coaches will want to work with.

It will be interesting to see him match up against Wemby again. He definitely got the better of Wemby the first time, I think if he can do it again we might start to see the beginning of a little rivalry. Personally to me Wemby is soft, and while Ware is somewhat similar to me in skillset, I think he has a much more rugged disposition. He's going to start talking $h1T to people on the floor pretty soon, he started getting active a little bit against the Magic.

Correction: you got laughed at for saying you were basing that take, in large part, on observing Ware in college. Where he flamed out of Oregon year 1 (thus setting up his lingering questions that allowed Miami to get him) and according to his coach Mike Woodson at Indiana, he barely said a word all year in season 2.

Love this vendetta you're on to right how you were wronged because I thought it was funny that you pointed to his college era to project his leadership qualities.

As to your larger question, I think Ware has done nothing but show himself to be a gritty worker that can thrive in this organization.

Kings would take Herro for Fox but grand poppa Riley is not trading his culture grandson. Your gonna hear Miami’s name in these Fox rumors but we don’t have the draft cache to compete with the Texas teams even if we do extract a pick in this Butler trade. Kings are going to ask for Ware and Herro.

Only thing I would offer for Fox is our picks, picks from Jimmy deal, Jaime and Jovic at most.

If that doesn’t land it, keep picks and cap flexibility for 2026.
