Huh.

Read on Twitter

That K.C. Johnson report also said he thinks LaVine only gets traded if it's part of a Jimmy deal.

Not sure if there's new info or it's more speculation. 8:40 mark:

That KC Johnson rumor is days old, and Gambo is just carrying water for his sources in the Phoenix organization so you can't trust him at all with anything related to Beal at this point. The Chicago part of this is dead unless Beal actually wants to go there.

There are a lot of crossed wires going on right now on the Beal-LaVine-Butler front.

Are the Bucks interested in Butler? Yeah, but maybe only if they can get a deal done with Miami for the right price.

Would they accept LaVine instead? Sure, but that would only happen if Beal accepts a move to Chicago.

Would they be willing to move their 2031 First? Depends on the deal.

I wouldn't count the Bucks out on any move over this next week or so unless it involves Dame or Giannis.

Maybe that’s just posturing.

But if Golden State is offering Wiggins, ending contracts and a first for Jimmy we’d have a tough time competing with that offer — especially without including our 2031 first.

I’m fine if this is the outcome. The only reason you make a Jimmy trade would be because the circumstances dictate you getting him far under what typical market value is for someone of his caliber.

I still think there’s a good chance he ends up here, but this exact scenario where a desperate team jumps into the mix last second is the next most likely scenario.

ETA: under no circumstances do you get into a bidding war given Miami has no leverage here. This is 100% a nothing to lose deal and I’m still 100% against giving up that pick, save for Top 20 protection or so.

And so these jokers persist. It's 1 of multiple reasons why trades w/ them are long shots.

Haven't seen one logical argument on why the Bucks would pay a guy like Lavine 100 million dollars AFTER this season and guarantee cap hell for the foreeable future. Edens won't approve that.

Middleton certainly is the conundrum.

Of course, we see Dame bounce back this year and GA have arguably his best season, only to have Middleton be unavailable or ineffective for 75% of the games. We see the defensive rating go from 19th to 9th, only to have the offense drop off due to Middleton's ineffectiveness.

I think the FO is in a tough spot here. We saw what Middleton did verses Utah and then we saw what he did verses Portland. Do they trust him in the playoffs where there are no B2B?

This is again where years of ineffective drafting in terms of adding a true core player have come back to bite us.

I'm fine making a move. I'm not throwing in the 2031 1st for any of the currently rumored names. And also, there is a zero percent chance Dame is traded.

I wonder what the Middleton discourse looks like after 2 out of three goose eggs without that title.

Holy **** I did not know the trade deadline is like 9 days away. Time to start cooking Horst because the team as it is isn't making it out of the 2nd round, potentially not the first either.

Might be time for Horst to pull the trigger on a smaller deal that has the potential to set up something bigger but you'd be happy with on its own if nothing materializes.

One idea:

Portis and 31 first to OKC for Aaron Wiggins and 3 future firsts.

This makes a ton of sense for both teams on a standalone basis but also sets the Bucks up to potentially do something else before the deadline.

Option A) Use one of those future firsts and Pat to add a decent back up center
Option B) Use Middleton, Pat, and all 3 firsts to go add a real difference maker.

Even if nothing materializes I think swapping Portis for Wiggins makes this team better and adding additional shots on goal from a draft perspective is good.

Go get signed up to the HOF committee and good luck convincing them he shouldn't be in the HOF because he's just not that guy... plus his numbers right now are comparable to his best years ever where he was top 10 in MVP voting several times.

The Dame hate is so weird. It’s like some of you had never seen him play before or something.

He’s having a great year.

Dame/Giannis combo is going to be allowed to have their 4 years together. The next week is now about finding that 3rd wheel to ensure that 1 of those 4 years results in a championship.

It's absolutely not hate. It is a recognition that we have defensive issues in the backcourt with him, and that he's 34 years old and his game can fade out at any time.

This is where I advocate to see if the Kings would be stupid and trade Dame for Fox and Keegan. Fox is averaging 25/5/6, just turned 27 and has been the heart of a Kings team that is 24-22 in the West with a positive DIFF. Fox can win.

Then if Vivek is panacing, you get him to add Keegan Murray to the deal and suddenly we've got one of the brighter young 3 and D guys.

It completely resets the Giannis timeline. But some of you are still star-struck by Dame's logo 3's.

I like when the media tells us a team like the Nets is out on Butler, you mean the team that isn't quite finished selling off its decent young guys for picks so they can tank properly is just now out on a 35 year old vet win now player weird.

Fox is the logical next guy that's gonna fetch a star type return on the trade market despite being nowhere near worth it. He's the new Dejounte Murray.

Lavine (50M) >>> Khris + Brook (50M combined)
How is that for an answer ?
