On a side note, this would also kill value for bench players/6th men. What's the point of paying for depth when your starter can play the whole game no issue?

Players plays plenty of minutes on an NBA season -> Stars get injured ->TV unhappy -> may give less money, so how can we fix that ?
Less match -> less TV game -> less money, so no.
Load management -> TV unhappy -> less money, so no

... hmmm , maybee I got an idea...

They should just cut the season down by 10-20 games, but shorter quarters is probably easier to sell to broadcasters than fewer games. So I guess this is a step in the right direction? :-/

I thought Rob Manfred was the worst commissioner in sports right now, Adam Silver is not far at this point....if the 10 minute quarter happens, it's over for me

Silver would have destroyed this product and that would be his legacy....When I saw this title, I thought it was maybe the April Fool's Day....

Hmm, he's referring to the olympic format.....that means no commercials, right? right?

Seriously, it doesn't matter how long the quarters are, as long as every interruption is being used to show commercials, the NBA is basically unwatchable during the end of close games.

Watched almost every minute I could during last years olympic tournament, and it was so much fun without the commercial breaks...

Next he's gonna want to change the court into a grass field, and then he's gonna want to put yard lines on that field, and he'll change the shape of the ball, and the amount of players allowed on the field at a time, and only one player will be allowed to pass the ball around...

Or they'll make the goal a lot bigger and allow one player on each team to commit goal tending...

Should the NBA shorten Quarters to 10 Minutes instead of 12?
