If I was AD, I would be furious that we have a nepo baby, eating up cap space and roster spot, in a year where I am trying to win a championship (not that it's realistic).

AD is not an idiot. He knows that was a Business decision and had no impact on their chances (55th pick). The few minutes he plays dont change anything.

What AD and LeBron makes furious over time, is the very fact that they both want a C, but Pelinka is fumbling it.

And Amen showing out is interesting because you saw the ball skills/raw athleticism in all those OTE highlights but how sure were you that it was real and would translate to the next level? Turns out, sometimes the eye test works out regardless of opposition.

if you pop, you pop.

Amen was always one of my guys draft was far more than just Wemby and somehow we decided to be a play in team and settle for the 13th pick.
Can only hope we don't make the same mistake this year

We never would have had the #4 pick. Stop talking something in existence that never was a possibility.

We was 6th in lottery odds before the trade deadline. The obvious point I'm making is they shoulda continued to be bad instead of self sabotaging their record

The Rockets had the 4th Pick with 22 Wins.
Portland had the 3rd Pick with 33 Wins.

The 4th Pick was literally impossible to gain as we already had 26 wins.

So our only Chance at Amen Thomson was the 3rd Pick

For the 3rd Pick lets look at the situation.
We had the Tiebreaker against Portland so we needed 1 more loss than Portland and no games against them we could lose.
This means we are only allowed to win 6 games out of 25.

I remind you, we still had FVV, OG and Siakam and others.

The Schedule:
2 Awful teams:

3xDetroit
2xCharlotte

We were 5-0 against them
Even if we tried like morons, we couldnt have lost against them. That is already 5 wins.

4 Bad teams:

1xUtah (37 Wins)
3xWashington (35 Wins)
1xOrlando (34 Wins)
1xIndiana (35 Wins)

We went 3-3, lets say we only win 1 with tanking.

That means, for the rest of 14 games, we would have had to lose each and every game.
And that includes teams like:

Bulls, OKC and New Orleans who at the time werent powerhouses.

To finish it off nicely we had Milwaukee as the last game in which Milwaukee literally didnt care about the game.

So are you still in the opinion we had a chance at Thomson?

I just wish that at some point facts actually start to matter for you guys.
The NBA is NOT a wish me Foundation.

I appreciate the breakdown but nobody is saying we had to finish 4th or had the chance to. That simple facts are that 6 best lottery odds have a better chance of moving up then the 13th best and we decided to end up with the latter

I don’t think it’s too early to say the Knicks won the KAT trade by far.

The KNicks are interesting. Average D (performance against Jokic last night notwithstanding), outstanding offense. Slow as bawlz relative to the rest of the league, and their SRS is like 6th in the league at the moment.

They should probably be getting more pub. It's WILD to me that Bridges is playing over 38 mpg. We haven't seen that since 2016 (Harden) and 2015 (Butler). It just isn't done anymore.

Oh, Thibs...

Thibs is an absolute maniac. It’s hard to get a read on how good the Knicks are because they run their starters into the ground and hardly play their bench. It’s getting them wins now but in the playoffs, teams shorten their bench as well.

I like their team though. Not going to win a championship but it’s good for that fan base to have a solid team to cheer for.

Oh, Thibs...

Thibs has actually been using the bench more the last few games, and thus getting starter minutes under 40. Probably too small a sample to get the mpg averages down much but the starters have seemed fresher in these games.

Precious was hurt to start the year, Shamet has only been back a few weeks and McBride missed a stretch of games with knee and hamstring. Now those three and Cam Payne are getting significant minutes by Thibs standards. We'll see how long it lasts, plus the return of Mitch Robinson and maybe a minor deadline addition of a wing will provide added depth.

Being a newish Knicks fan has been interesting anyway. Games where you'd think the bench could come in with 5 minutes left, because the other coach has conceded and cleared his bench, he still waits till 2 minutes remaining before putting rookies in. It's infuriating for sure.

NBA today showing OKC with SGA sitting, has what would be the worst offensive rating in the league.

Goes to show how hard it is to score without a "real" #1. Mentioned how Williams is struggling with it and it takes time, making mistakes.

Just something to remember that Barnes doesn't have that luxury to hide that flaw for most of the game like Williams does.

We see this with Thibs each year lol. Great regular season but wear and tear accumulates and then they're wiped out by the time the playoffs arrive. I don't think Knicks fans will mind too much though, they've struggled through decades of way worse basketball.

Wiz are so bad Bronny James increased his season total of 4 points all the way up to 9.

1-6 shooting on a dunk....and his fg% went up on the season....lol. He had gone 10 games played without getting a FGM.

It's funny that Atlanta might fall off, and the Spurs have their pick, unprotected.

Imagine if Spurs tanked, and ended up with #1 and #2.

If both those picks move up, they'd also get rewarded with the Bulls pick since it'll fall to 11.

Return to Toronto Raptors
