There's Mitch Johnson running up the sideline for Keldon to move so as to run the set right...

Tre fouled. Makes both FTs.

High double on Harden with good work to try to prevent the ball getting back to him easily.

3RD Q: SPURS 92 CLIPPERS 94

Good fight back from down 17.

Better transition, passing, and hustle.

Better gang rebounding.

Really good scoring distribution. And now we need Wemby to go ALIEN MODE.

TAKE OVER THE GAME, WEMBY!

And protect the arc and the ball, Spurs.

BRING IT!

If we could just REBOUND (-20 here) and make our FTs (5 missed in a four point game right now), we could take the lead back and keep it.

Castle should not be tied for team high with SIX 3s attempted! Opponents WANT him to be the end point at the arc. That's what the y gameplan for. Can we NOT play into it??!

Dev absolutely cannot hit an *airball* coming off a curl screen to get his pet elbow J.

Dev makes up for it with a 3.

We have TWO players opponents do not have to worry abouing covering at the arc -Sochan and Castle - playing together late in the game, one wasting time not bothering to shoot, waiting for teammates to get the ball, another who takes 3s and misses them aplenty.

I just can't...

Sochan REFUSES to shoot a 3. Wastes time. We have to recover and come to the pass.

Scramble mode. Sochan to Wemby rushed shot.

Clank.

3 the other way.

WE NEED 3S SHOOTERS OR **** PLAY MORE OF THEM TOGETHER. AT LEAST DONT' PLAY 3S LIABILITIES TOGETHER LATE!!!

****.

Wemby looks slowed physically by something. Probably got dinged somewhere.

Isn't contesting all the flaoters close to our rim with great stretch for them.

I just saw the replay of the Wemby and Zubac thing. Like I say, I'm the biggest fan of Wemby but dude that looked pretty "Floppy" to me. In spite of what Sean thinks.
A learning experience.

4TH Q: SPURS 116 CLIPPERS 128

Couldn't get to it before but just had some brief thoughts on this game.

We fought back from a 17-point deficit - good! This is an experienced vet-laden team looking to make noise in the POs so it's no shame in the result, but as ever, how we go about things is worth examining.

We caught them to actually lead by 1 with about four and a half minutes left. Then things fell apart. Gone is our late game clutchness, and it has been gone for a while. We fight back well enough but can't seem to figure things out and look lost.

It doesn't help when Castle is set up as the final shot taker *at the arc* time and again. This works in the opponent's schemes. This is what they *want*. It also doesn't help that Sochan, wide open, refuses to shoot while his defender sags many feet away. It's a two pronged problem - neither should be taking this shot given their poor efficiency, and we're wasting chances with the ball in their hands there. I get the need for tem to be on the floor, and together, for D purposes, but like Barnes was shooting well. Find him instead. Or play to Steph/Sochan strengths and drive.

I don't like that we let opponents bully us. Ok let cooler heads prevail, but there's too much corralling to break it all up and not enough FU punch back. I don't mean injure, or do anything dirty, but more physicality. If we foul, make it legal but make it hurt.

I don't know if this was a post-Paris hangouver, still jetlagged or what, but Wemby didn't look his energetic self. Probably tired from carrying the team, and from getting so banged with no help. We have just about nothing behind him, and I like Mamu and Bassey. I like Collins too but he's played himself out of the rotation. Mamu is more of a PF and Bassey is bouncy but small and good in short spurts. We just need more cohesion and juice. We got BADLY outrebounded 57-30 including 17-7 on O boards. 22-7 against in second chance points. OOF.

Part of it is running our schemes - not **** three Spurs bunched up into the paint on fast breaks, not contested ISO one and dones, but RUN OUR SETS. Part of it is as I mentioned before, having right guys out there, and setting up shots to respective strengths. You can bet that mofo getting shots up for 40 minutes and then coming into the game late when the results was decided was a FU sticking it to the old team. We need that FU right back in effort even if the talent is not yet there.

Rotations are to short even if they got opened up to nine players (better).

Can Champagie stop dribbling? Just please stop. Run to open spots, square up, shoot.

We need more form our bench than 32 points. We actually outscored theirs, but our success is built on collective strengths which we are not capitalizing on .

We did do some things well - only 10TOs, good on the fast break when we weren't running into one another, 11 steals. But our inefficiency compared to efficiency of the opponent meant we were not setting up right guys for right shots.

Sochan and Castle man D were flat out excellent. Wemby was still Wemby with 23/12/4/2/3. Like that's excellent, and yet we've come to have such exceptional expectations we should not take that for granted. It's a carry job.

We've lost 5 of the last 6 games, and allowed 129, 140, 128, 136, 128 against in that span. OOF. These are all against loaded up or vet-laden teams with orders of best, secondary, tertiary options, better oiled machines. So it's a test of levels right now. We some FU BD Energy back into our game. If we can't out-talent a team, we must outhustle and outheart them. And for basketball gods' sake, some punch back.

GSG
