What is the rumored standing offer from GSW?

Believed to be Looney, Gary Payton, and 2nd rounder(s).
Looks like a min must also be included by GS, so Chicago would have to waive 2 players like THT & Craig.

I actually think we could be pretty aggressive, but I'm not holding my breath.

Gotta be more than that for Zach, no? Moody seems like a fair ask to be included for Zach

Of course.. Vooch and Zach are on totally different contracts heh, GSW would have to include a lot for Zach to match salaries, probably Wiggins.

Zach, Craig for Wiggins, Payton, Moody..

Unfortunately that's not enough salary to match Zach.

I don't think the Warriors will include Wiggins either way, he's playing very good for them.

Vuc should be their target.

Also I still hope Zach eventually stays, White gets traded.. I dont wanna pay Coby over 20M next contract

So sick of waiting for this ****. Now that we're guaranteed to be at least 4 games under 500 at the deadline, time to try to dump as many of the non-keepers as humanly possible:

Keepers (for the moment):
Zach
Matas
Smith

Re-shuffle: everyone else

Did we make any deals last deadline? I know we finally broke our two year streak of no trades, but can't remember if it was just the Demar S&T.

There hasn't been a deadline deal since the Bulls traded for Vucevic and traded away Gafford (same deadline).

It’s remarkable how inactive they have been after the initial offseason flurry. Even the best teams in the league make minor deals around the fringes to improve the team but they’ve literally just trotted out the same players.

KC said he would be surprised if AKME decided to sit it out at this deadline…so I suppose we might get some action. Vuc is a higher likelihood than Zach imo.

KC clearly has amnesia, or he's slept the last few deadlines.

I'd be more surprised if they actually did something.

They have not trotted out the same players.

LaVine, DeRozan, Lonzo, Vucevic, Green, Caruso, White, Pat & Ayo for 3 straight seasons isn't the same players?

Derrick Jones Jr. for 2 of those 3 seasons (he left for Dallas for the third season), Drummond & Terry for 2 of those seasons also.

Minor additions of Craig, Carter, Beverley (not even half a season), Tristan Thompson (same as Bev), Dragic etc don't make for a whole new team.

It has literally been the same core players for 3 straight season.

This season is the only season that has mostly changed (Due to DDR's free agency and the trade trade of Caruso).

LaVine, Vuc, White, Pat, Ayo and Lonzo still remain.

I hope we can trade Zach at the deadline,he deserves to play for a contender.A dream trade would involve Vuc but I don't believe AK will go for a full tank move like trading 2 of our best players for a bad contract, picks and fillers.
I hope that finally some trade happens.

Vucevic
Vuc ends up going to the Warriors with the trade getting expanded to include Kuminga (whom the Bulls were targeting last trade deadline):

Bulls in: Jonathan Kuminga, Kevon Looney, Gary Payton, Kyle Anderson

Warriors in: Nikola Vucevic, Coby White, and Torrey Craig

Warriors add Kuminga over adding picks, while also dumping Anderson's contract on Chicago. Warriors get their stretch 5, a young guard in Coby, and a veteran replacement forward in Craig for a playoff push this year.

*Bulls would have to cut a player to make this work. I could only dream that that player would be THT.

This for me is a "where there's smoke there's fire" trade. They like Vuc, we like Kuminga. How do we level off that value.

Carter and Duarte
This ones a bit out of left field but

Chicago in: Jock Landale and Aaron Holiday

Houston in: Jevon Carter and Chris Duarte

Houston swaps out Landale whom they barely play and Holiday for the better 3-point shooting Carter and Craig to support their playoff run. Bulls get a half season look at Landale and Holiday, both are non-guranteed or team option next season and could be let go for cap space if needed. Seee if Landale and Giddey can show some of the Team Australia chemistry in the NBA.

Trades accepted.

They have not trotted out the same players.

Highest 8 players MPG over the last 3 years.
2021-22 - DDR, LaVine, Ball, Vuc, Caruso, White, Ayo & Williams.
2022-23 - DDR, LaVine, Vuc, Williams, Beverley, Ayo, Caruso & White.
2023-24 - DDR, White, LaVine, Vuc, Ayo, Caruso, Williams & Green.

They've literally trotted out the exact same players for 3 straight seasons with the exception of trying to find temporary replacements for Lonzo.

One thing for certain is every year, every single asset on this roster lost value. I said it each deadline- make a move sooner, or make your job harder, later. My opinion was while Vuc kind of insta-plummeted, overall AK was in a safe position with how many high level roleplayers and modest stars he had.

Well, he waited too long each year. Every single asset depreciated (or depreciates). Caruso/Giddey, Demar, Zach, Vuc, Pat, Terry. Portland pick. Even our theoretically protected picks lost value, if you think about it, because now we’re likely looking at bottom 8-12 standings, so any team bargaining would be like “Oh no, we don’t want top-10 protection, we want that top-4 Vuc protection.”

I don’t think Zach and Vuc “rebuilt” their value. Nobody gives a damn about the day to day drops and jumps. These are billion dollar orgs with analytical tools up the wazoo. All it took was a few games to see Zach/Vuc were a problem (for us- not the league). Occasionally a sucker comes up, but it’s becoming less common with all the tools and deep stats available.

At this point, Lonzo’s miracle recovery is the only bump. But they won’t sell him for a chip. And I’m of that opinion that you can’t tank harder than you can with Vuc at the anchor. If anything, these guys become draft night salaries to play with in swaps (or god forbid a FRP acquisition).

But they should strategically “rest”, DNP Zach and Giddey as much as possible.
