That's not to say they're world-beaters, but Deuce and Precious can both give 20 minutes off the bench without harming the team.
Brunson has figured out that if he doesn't get the whistle, he can usually find a cutter somewhere around the rim instead of throwing a shoddy floater up and it's increased his diming and efficiency.
KAT even on an off night had a huge impact just by putting Jokic in foul trouble early.
OG got his groove back, and Mikal is back to late PHX, first season in Brooklyn mode.
Everything's trending in the right direction and it's wild, because this happens every season with Thibs. The defense came around a few weeks later than usual, but every season under Thibs, the Knicks gain steam around the holidays. Usually, there's a trade that helps provide the final spark, but this time it might just be guys getting healthy that gives them the final nudge to being full-fledged contenders.
Exactly, it's a decent bench, which is good enough when you have arguably the best starting five in the entire league. They just need to hold serve, and since Deuce can play PG or SG while Precious can play PF or C; Thibs can combo them with whoever has the hot hand at any given time. That means some guys can rest without the team suffering too much.
Add Mitch, and the line-up flexibility just gets better. The one downside of the Nuggets game was getting wrecked on the glass, and Mitch would solve that issue.
