Lakers need another talented playmaking guard and I like a younger Sexton but I'm not sure about his defense though.
JC is a bit too old and his defense is not good, just like Vucevic. The Bull's center can shoot and space the floor but is a liability on defense.

I know that about Vuc but his 34/5 years old def not worth a first if you can get him without a first by all means.

Sexton plays defense his not like DLO, his not great at defense but he does play Defense. He is a good consistent offensive guard who could come off the bench while Bron here or start post Bron until Lakers find replacement with hopefully that star player hehe. Yep I'm banking in star playing coming via FA.

I freaking get it , you think there is NO TRADE that can help this team to win it all but I disagree.
You make it sound that James is so over the hill that he is throwing bricks and just putting up empty stats etc.
Not sure if you know that he has a higher current season ave than most of his career ave including FG%, 3pt FG%, FT%, Rebs with 9 assists/game.

Wrong, wrong wrong. You say you freakin get it, but then say I say stuff I've never said. And have actually said the opposite. Lebron is AMAZING. Said it many, many times. He's defying age admirably. But that doesn't mean he's hasn't lost that "extra gear" ...he has. Especially as the games pile on. Lebron is fine. But he is declining...and he and AD weren't enough to get it done 2 years ago...so they are certainly not enough now. And will be even less so next year, and so on.

And I have said COUNTLESS times, that if there was a trade to be made (or combo of several trades) that actually improved this team significantly, then I'd be willing to listen. In the offseason, I said we should try for Mitchell. Yes, I knew it was a fantasy hail-mary, but that's the kind of improvement that would be needed to make this team a real contender....not a couple of semi-decent roll players. If we're gonna throw away our future...then it's gotta be for something that's as close to a guarantee as you can get. So no, you don't get it. This is all stuff I've said plenty of times.

But your fighting math here: You got Lebron aging...and you got AD with his injury history...and yes, his age is now starting to enter the equation as well. So real moves needed to be made back yesterday. Not in the future. And if your gonna throw away our future, then it better be for something REALLY, REALLY good. Not freakin DFS.

This team got eliminated by a team in the playoffs with 3 of those losses by an ave of less than 4pts/game, 2 games by 2 points...

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah......that team beat us like 12 games in a row. At what point does it not matter how it looks? Point is...when they need to, they will. Been doing it, will do it. I'm not in the 'moral victory' business...and the Lakers certainly shouldn't be either. We've been beaten 6 ways to Sunday by that team....who aren't even one of the teams I'm most worried about. We don't have that extra gear anymore. And DFS ain't the answer. No...DLo sucks. He wasn't giving us anything. But his expiring contract had value. But instead we got duped into giving away value to get rid of him. Like seriously....just buy the fool out, and send him home. Save yourself the picks.

Your damn right I'm negative....cause I keep pointing to the giant waterfall we're about to go over. No point in the negativity afterward. What's done is done - as you put it. If you got something to say....better say it now. Cause soon it will be too late, if it's not already.

Well .. Bud I've been on this forum since 2012 ... I've been a Laker fan since Kobe was traded on draft night. b4 that I was a player follower (young then)... I've been here on this forum longer then you according to the stats on the side (you 2015, me 2012). MIght not always been here on Lakersboard but I'm here and still here now even during the Bron faze which I've been struggling with even said this from the moment Lakers signed Bron. I've seen what It's like to miss playoffs and have fans complain whine carry on etc at least with my intentions we're staying competitive and young etc while waiting for the next big star In FA to come while still having AD.

YOu might think It's a sinking ship etc, but as I've stated many times I'm not In It for the rebuild, I'm going all In and staying competitive rather then the long painful rebuild.

Yes. Rui so you can get Sexton. JHS,Knecht 2 unprotected pics to get Kessler ... Lakers need both Big and a guard.

This Isn't coming from me, It's coming from what's already been discussed between the two teams. The problem Is Lakers haven't been willing to remove the protections on the pics and keep making It top5 or what ever.

Yeah...this is hardly the only forum around, but whatever. I've been a fan since 83. Didn't have the online chat forum dates to prove it back then...but it doesn't really matter. If you love the Lakers, you love the Lakers.

I'm just curious is all. I see alot of "kicking the can" mentality around here. We'll see what happens when that finally catches up with us. Buying stars means little to nothing. Every team out there buys/trades for stars. There aren't alot of Lebron's in the league. Don't see anything close these days. At some point, this team is gonna have to actually build something. And we can do it with extra picks, to speed it up....or we can do it with a bunch of picks missing, to slow it down.

It'll just be extra depressing doing it the slow way knowing we threw our picks away on a dead horse, that we knew was dead...but couldn't bring ourselves to admit.

Should we be willing to help facilitate a Butler to Miami trade if it either gets us 3 first rounders picks from Phoenix in 2025,2027,2029 or two firsts in 2026 and 2028? We can make the money work while keeping Reaves, Lebron, AD, Khnect, Christie. The pros is that we’d have 4-5 first round picks to throw into a deal for a superstar, the con is that we’d be limited in salary to match for a trade (pretty much Reaves and DFS if he opts in) plus we’d be in salary cap hell, we’d be a thin team again and we’d be stuck with Beal because of his no trade clause.

We’re kind of in a no man’s land right now where there’s no one or two moves that would make us a contender but Lebron and AD won’t let us rebuild.
