Bisaccia was fairly successful everywhere he's been so what the hell is going on in GB.

Special teams is one area where you cannot be 'fine' and expect to win a championship. Same old ****, different day.

The conference championship teams by Special Teams DVOA

Commanders 9th
Eagles 14th

Chiefs 12th
Bills 28th

Packers were 15th

Obviously you'd rather have a good Special teams then a bad one but none of the Final 4 teams were elite on Special Teams this year, Just goes to show that you absolutely can win a Championship with your special teams being fine
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Would be a huge loss to the defensive staff if he get's poached.

Putting aside Bisaccia's performance as ST coach, what does it mean that he's LaFleur's "game management adviser?" MLF's biggest struggles were with game management, IMO.

I wish we knew more about how MLF makes decision. This year he said he does it off of gut feel, but in the past he's referenced their "model". It was such a drastic shift in aggressiveness this year I'd love to know what changed.

Although it did pick up a bit near the end of the season, he ended up finishing in the middle of the pack in "aggressiveness", atleast per this FTN measurement

https://ftnfantasy.com/nfl/most-aggressive-coaches-of-2024

*just a side note on that ranking, looking at the least aggressive coaches, Mayo got fired, but 4 of the bottom 5 are Andy Reid, KOC, Kyle Shanahan, & Jim Harbaugh, 4 pretty darn good coaches

Mennenga, Drayton, Pettine, and Barry.

MLF has sort of developed a reputation of cycling through Special Teams and Defensive Coordinators.

Now, none of the quartet above were very good, and Drayton and Barry were awful, but no head coach likes to be seen as having a quick trigger when it comes to firing his assistants. Especially one like MLF who took forever to fire the obviously in over his head Drayton.

Consequently, it makes sense that Bisaccia, who has not really shined in his 3 seasons in Green Bay, gets the extension.

Another DL coach LaFleur interviewed off the market.

At first glance, it feels like we got passed over by better position coaches that went elsewhere, but MLF nailed the Hafley hire, so I'm willing to let it play out.

Covington is interesting because he got to see the entire field as D-Coordinator and probably learned a ton that he can apply to just his D-Line room and concentrate there. Seeing the bigger picture and knowing what your DB's and Backers can do for your D-Line is half the battle. Just from glancing at what Patriots fans are saying, it seems like he was a good DL coach but him moving up to D-coordinator and calling plays was a bit premature.

Doesn't he still have a year left at only 16 million?

I get the Bengals are in a pinch with the looming Chase extension but why on earth would Cincy cut him at that number?

Even if they decide they don't want to extend him and he then raises a stink there not gonna be shortage of teams willing to trade for him so the better question is what are you willing to trade for him?

That said I'm 100% not opposed to trading for him. #1 target should be Crosby for this team followed by Hendrickson at #2.

Throw either of those two on this team and the Packers D instantly becomes a top 2-3 unit (and that's even assuming Jaire only plays 8-10 games)

Feels like the Crosby ship has sailed since Carroll arrived. They seemed pretty chummy at the press conference so I doubt Pete will let him out the building. Plus he’ll cost too much and is coming off surgery. Gute needs to hit on an edge rusher in the draft.

****. Was hoping they'd be able to keep him for another year and promote him if Hafley got poached.

Sounds like he was a wanted man. Silverstein reporting that he turned down becoming Penn St's DC and would have been SF's DC if they didn't hire Saleh
