Wait, who was gloating? Because it likely wasn't many Blazer fans. I'd say about 50% of fans on our board were off of him (me included), but pleasantly surprised by his showing and annoyingly disappointed by his injury in that game.

The reality is, what choice do the Blazers have? His value can't really go lower, so it makes sense to play him and see if there is anything there. And yeah, he's barely 20 and only played actual organized basketball for a year and a half.

FWIW, for me his absolute high end outcome would be you, Kemba. Chances of that outcome? I'd say maybe 15-20%.

I'm curious where his 3pt shooting levels off at by the end of the season. Hes at 36.4% 3pt for the season, 38.5% 3pt over the last 25 games, and 42.4% 3pt over the last 20 games.

His mechanics have always been pretty good. He still has basically the same shooting form, but it looks a bit more smooth and fluid. Hes shooting the ball with a lot of confidence right now.

Most of his shooting issues were due to a lack of consistency in his footwork that was baffling. Like early HS levels of bad. Thankfully that’s a fairly easy thing to clean up and it looks like he has as of late.

If he can shoot respectively from 3 it changes a lot regarding his trajectory. He looked like a guy that shouldn’t get a 2nd contract, now he looks like an upper tier backup / lower tier starter - which is workable since he is so young.

I have been a Scoot hater and he is for sure still levels below what we hoped for but he is truly showing improvement, consistently, in the past 25+ games. It’s a glimmer of hope.

If we finally traded Simons we might have a chance to really see who Scoot is but our FO is idiotic. We need him getting 35mpg to help evaluate especially with so many guards projecting in the Top-10 of this draft.
