We should start lego chants across the league. Bully the bully and make him think twice about getting the ball on the court. Isaiah "Lego" Stewart.

This place doesn't even trust an NBA player's ability to properly evaluate their own profession but now I'm supposed to believe they're experts on fighting lmao
How would the people who spend hundreds of days a year with him know?
True, you got me there.
You clearly have more knowledge than they do on the subject.
I'm saying it's likely you don't trust a basketball player to accurately evaluate other basketball player's ability AS basketball players, so why on earth would you suddenly trust them to accurately evaluate the talent of a guy in a completely different sport?
That's silly lol
Here's what I know about James Johnson's bonafides:
Every single one of his claims comes directly from him.
There is no verifiable record of him having any sanctioned matches, even as a point fighter.
That's super duper weird, considering even regional JKA, WTA, and ITA tournaments are pretty well documented online and have been for decades now.
He says he got his black belt from his dad. Further, there is zero information about his dad's martial arts pedigree, no info about who Dad was trained by, and no info or evidence that he ever ran a school or taught anyone outside of his own children.
The only evidence anyone has of James Johnson's ability to hurt people is when he was arrested for domestic assault for choking and hitting his wife
Hardly the makings of a world class martial arts badass, if you ask me

Iβd tell you to educate yourself on it a bit if you want to boldly talk about it, but we both know this is 2025 and instead of just being like βI was wrongβ that youβre just going to dig your heels in further, so have at it.

Stewart has the emotional control of a toddler. I'm not even sure if he will ever change at this point in life.

Lmao
I'm saying WTF do Jeff Teague or Bam Adebayo know about martial arts or fighting? They're basketball players.
And most basketball fans seem to think basketball players are idiots who can't accurately evaluate other basketball players.
So once again, why on earth would I or anyone else care about their opinions on the ability of guys doing a completely different sport?
And like, that's ALL the evidence there is of James Johnson's "skill" as a fighter or martial artist! LOL
Well no there's also the fact that he got arrested for beating his wife. He clearly has a verifiable black belt in domestic assault.
So yeah idk if you want to keep believing the fantasy that that guy was some sort of badass, have at it!

How would the people who have watched him fight, know if he can fight? Probably because they've seen him **** everyone up. Just a guess.
I haven't once mentioned MMA or anything, just the fact that the dude can very clearly handle himself and many witnesses have seen him do it.
But hey, you probably have more knowledge than they do sitting at home, behind the keyboard, having never seen him fight!

Except there's no actual record of him fighting anyone. We have no idea of the quality of the opponents Teague saw him sparring with (and if he saw anything he saw 2 guys simply sparring)
and you want to base this belief on what basketball players think of his martial arts skills as if they would know the first thing about martial arts or fighting at all.

Except that it isn't clear at all precisely because the only verifiable evidence anyone has of his ability is from two witnesses who happen to be basketball players with zero martial arts or fighting experience themselves.
That and his arrest for assaulting a woman
So yes, I'll go ahead and trust my judgment on this subject that James Johnson is a joke of a human and a fake tough guy based on the complete lack of evidence to the contrary beyond you and Jeff Teague going "trust me bro"

You're the one saying "trust me bro."
I brought up actual people who have seen him fight.
Not to mention the NBA players voted on who'd they would least like to fight and James Johnson was #1.
The fact that you believe your made up opinion, based on absolutely nothing, is more valid than people who know him, is hilarious and perfectly encapsulates what society is these days...so well done. You are this generation in a nutshell.

Idk how many different ways there are to tell you that NBA players are NOT martial arts experts or fight analysts lmao
xxSnEaKyPxx wrote:Not to mention the NBA players voted on who'd they would least like to fight and James Johnson was #1.
Why would this be meaningful to me lol

The only thing anyone here has made up about James Johnson is James Johnson with his claim to a 20-0 kickboxing record that can't be verified or substantiated anywhere.
And you want to believe this because noted fight expert Jeff Teague said so?
I would say something about how this level of gullibility and complete lack of discernment is emblematic of this generation, but then again I think extrapolating one person's behavior to such a degree when it's not at all relevant to the conversation being had in the first place is about the silliest thing a person could do and sort of an admission

Wasn't just Jeff Teague, I brought up numerous players talking about him.
But you already had your mind made up based off absolutely nothing, which is fine, you're allowed to be wrong.

And Bam.
That's two. Two whole guys to support this claim that James Johnson is the scariest man to ever grace the NBA.
Two guys who have zero discernible experience or expertise on the subject anyway.
Two guys who I wouldn't trust to be able to identify the difference between a mawashi geri and a mae geri
xxSnEaKyPxx wrote:But you already had your mind made up based off absolutely nothing, which is fine, you're allowed to be wrong.
Once again, it's clearly based on the fact that there's zero, zilch, none, nada evidence of James Johnson having ever fought anyone in anything remotely resembling an official capacity.
Beyond a couple of NBA guys who say they saw him beat some random people up in sparring, I guess?
And his Domestic Assault charge, which I would think would be immediately disqualifying on its own actually cause what kind of "badass" goes around beating up women.
That's it.
Like if you want to believe in Santa Claus too that's totally fine

...and DeRozan, not to mention all the other players who voted him.
Of course he hasn't fought anyone in an official fight, the dude has been on NBA contracts for the last 15 years...contrary to what you seem to believe, NBA contracts aren't going to allow him to do official MMA fights in his spare time....wild....I know.
I'm not sure about the domestic abuse stuff, never heard of that prior to you saying it, but looking it up, it shows that it was dismissed. Obviously doesn't mean he didn't do it, but it doesn't mean he did either, any guess one way or another would just be an assumption.
Trying to liken people who have known James Johnson for years and have seen him fight(which come from numerous sources, not just all the same team at the same time), to beliving in Santa is hilarious.
Anywho, as I said, you're allowed to be wrong, and you're allowed to be wrong as loudly and proudly as you want to be, thats perfectly fine. Think we've derailed this thread enough, have a good day.

No that's not wild to me at all actually
What's wild to me is that - given the above statement - he would claim to have a 20-0 kickboxing record and that anyone would believe him, but here you are
xxSnEaKyPxx wrote:Trying to liken people who have known James Johnson for years and have seen him fight(which come from numerous sources, not just all the same team at the same time), to beliving in Santa is hilarious.
The people you keep citing may have known James for their entire lives. That does not mean they know anything about martial arts.
We could be lifelong friends, and I could know all about how you paint, but I wouldn't be able to tell you how actually good or bad a painter you may be because I do not know anything about painting actually.
So all the evidence that you have is stories from guys who don't actually seem to know anything about the subject anyway.
Do YOU even know the difference between a mawashi and a mae geri without looking it up?
It matters because to the people who know stuff like that, hearing claims like "I have a black belt from my daddy and I have a 20-0 kickboxing record that you can't look up at all but don't worry about that" is #1 in the "This guy is full of crap actually" playbook.
And in the world of martial arts, there have been and there will always be A LOT of James Johnson's walking around making these kinds of bogus claims, to the point where it's become a total cliche.
From where I'm sitting, it sounds to me like at most James has about enough skill to bully some white belts in front of his friends during sparring, which is pretty crappy behavior actually but seems consistent with his character.
But yeah sure, go ahead and believe that makes him a legit tough guy. That's clearly very important to you, and there's nothing more amusing to people who know something about this kind of stuff than Mcdojo tough dudes crafting their tall tales.

Stewart also slapped the refs arm off of him, when the ref was trying to get him to go back to the bench. Seems that should be worth a game.
Mathurin just got a game suspension for barely brushing a ref and he has no history of problems.
The gun gesture is troubling. The flagrant foul could have resulted in a serious injury, with Bryant hitting his head on the floor.
I think Detroit would be better off without this nut.
Duren is a legit tough guy, monster on the boards and a beast overall, without the idiotic stuff. Detroit has to many good young players for an a-hole to mess them up.
