Sacramento fans are hot for Ware. They think we'll trade him and Herro, plus picks, for Fox. I'm not seeing it.

I'm not seeing it either. Pat Riley is not going to trade Herro for Fox and on top of it include Ware. This is San Antonio's show to complete.

Y'all really don't want to re-sign Duncan? I think his skillset, IQ, and chemistry is hard to find and he is a lot more valuable to the Heat in it's pursuit of a championship. In both recent Finals appearances, he directly contributed to the 3 wins.

My guess is it is either Anthony Carter's agent or an associate of his agent.
People don't know the legend of Carter's agent lol

If the Spurs want him that bad, they can have him. At this point I'm starting to think Herro's value is right up there with Fox. It would make no sense to move Herro for Fox. I also would not consider moving Ware for anyone not in the top 5. The only pound of flesh I'd be willing to move begrudgingly is Niko and Jaquez. And it would still pain me greatly to move Niko

If they don't want him there you can cross the Warriors off the list again.

When even star players of teams don't want you in their locker room. This is ugly. This isn't a FO saying idk, this is the players themselves saying we do not want you

Anthony Carter had a player option for some ~$4-$5M, iirc. He basically had one foot out of the league by that point, so everyone assumed he'd opt in. (Just for reference, the MLE around that time was ~$6-7M/season, iirc). Opting in would have significantly reduced Miami's cap space. Well...the official story is Anthony Carter's agent....forgot... to opt his client in. And Miami ended up with an extra $4-$5M in cap space which it used to sign Lamar Odom. (Edited to add: Miami really wanted to go after Elton Brand in FA and signed him to an $80M contract, but the Clippers matched.)

The "kicker" here is Carter's agent has been paying Carter the money he missed out on.

Butler is running out of options. This is basically a game of chicken right now to see if they can force feed Beal onto to us. This really may go down to the deadline like I have mentioned to see who blinks first. I have no doubt at this point that the Heat probably have Beal and 3 1st on the table to take at any given moment. I assume the Heat want the Memphis offer but can't move forward until Butler's camp gives them the Ok.

Not surprising. Ware is the super rare unicorn that can actually--in theory--make Sabonis passable for playoff basketball. They can't have him tho.

I would love to resign Duncan on a team friendly deal

So how fast can Rozier be suspended or kicked out and how fast can heat get Rozier cap relief?

His ETO is 9.8 million next year so i would say that’s a fair market offer to extend at if they want to go that route. At this point i have no illusions the Heat org views him as a lifer. It would save the Heat 10 million in cap space next year if they did something like this which would help them stay away from tax while maintaining the contract to trade.

**** if they and we were going to do that they should have given us their pick instead of trading it for 3 worthless ones

http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q57

From Hoopshype

Only $9,888,000 guaranteed in 2025/26, HoopsHype has learned. Increases to full guarantee if his team doesn't waive him on or before two days after the end of 2025/26 moratorium period or if his team wins an NBA championship between 2022 and 2025 season and he achieves various minutes/games

I believe that's two separate things. If Duncan exercises the ETO, he's a free agent and the Heat owe him $0 next season. If he declines the option then he's under a partial guarantee ($9,888,000) that converts to a full guarantee ($19,888,000) if the Heat don't cut him by a certain date.

It’s been said many times on here before but bears repeating every time we review Duncan’s contract…what the hell was the front office thinking giving him this deal? As far as I remember, he didn’t have any real suitors otherwise.
